Valencia College 2019 Orlando

Published

Hello!

I have a question for any Valencia College students in Orlando, Florida. How many of you are currently waiting to be accepted into nursing school for 2019? I submitted my application in June 2018, got wait-listed before the Spring term started. I'm currently waiting to be accept for the Summer or Fall 2019 term. Please share the date you submitted your application, if you've been accepted or any news on the status of your application. Would love to share our experiences. THANKS!

I ran into a similar problem in fall when I was preparing to apply. I had a xfer credit that was eligible in 2015, but ineligible last fall because Valencia no longer offered the equivalent course in their catalog. I ended up having to take a humanities course last term to get it satisfied.

The deans did, however, grant the course attributes required for graduation. Did they state anything like that in your petition? I'm hoping there's something in there that they can use for your app!

He did mention that but I have idea what that meant lol

When I met with academic advisor, he explained that the transfer courses was granted attributes of being a Gordon Rule humanities class for transcript purposes, but he wasn't able to tell me if this would be evidential for the nursing program requirement.

The online advisor also gave me this explanation for the same course:

"It basically means that when another College or University views your transcripts, they will see that even though that course didn’t transfer over, it’s an attribute that you have the knowledge, skills and development of that specific course."

I wasn't sure if this meant I could use it to satisfy the nursing program requirement, so I ended up taking Intro to Humanities to be safe. Were I you, I'd look into this more to see if it may help you!

Did anybody receive an acceptance letter??

Nothing in my email but cobwebs ?

Nothing yet. I keep refreshing my page every 15 mins.

I don’t think today is the day ☹️

Hey guys- so glad to find a summer 2019 thread. I applied back in August and was waitlisted “to be rolled over to summer 2019” for traditional day time nursing.

i also applied for the evening program (which is now my top pick) back in December. That process was a hassle because up until mid January my status was registering as “incomplete” there was a lot of back and forth about that so hopefully it didn’t affect my place in their “first come first served” process.

I didn’t realize that we could hear back so soon becaus the confirmation email said we puke hear back by end of March.

Excited and anxious! ?

Yes most likely next week, since the 26th is the 6 week mark. Also orientation is march 22, I wish it was before our spring break instead of during my daughters spring break. I had to put our mini vacation on hold until I find out if I get in or not.

I hope y'all are hanging in there at the 5 week mark. I'm going a little nuts. ?

Still nothing in my email ?

Hello Everyone!?

I've been checking my ATLAS everyday. Still no update. Like many of you, I am getting extremely anxious. I have been waiting for months now and I'm very eager to get started! I hope we all hear something soon!

Best Wishes,

Reema ❤️
