Hello!

I have a question for any Valencia College students in Orlando, Florida. How many of you are currently waiting to be accepted into nursing school for 2019? I submitted my application in June 2018, got wait-listed before the Spring term started. I'm currently waiting to be accept for the Summer or Fall 2019 term. Please share the date you submitted your application, if you've been accepted or any news on the status of your application. Would love to share our experiences. THANKS!

I just saw on my degree audit they processed a nursing evaluation check and then realized I have an outstanding humanities credit. I really hope this doesn't effect my chances. Does anyone have any information pertaining to prereqs and if this humanities must be completed before I am admitted?

Hi Mkocab,

If you are trying to get into Valencia's traditional ADN program, you need the one humanities credit. It can either be core or institutional. It has to be completed and grade posted before you can apply. If you applied before hand, and have now found you are missing it, they will probably tell you via email that it needs to be done and then resubmit an application. If you already have a humanities, you are all set!

Hey @Mkocab! All prerequisites have to be completed prior to admission. Do you have any humanities courses completed there or at another institution?

Side Note: I just saw degree audits on my account from January. I didn't realize we would see this! Has anyone else checked their audits?

I have but the dean denied it. I'm worried now...

If your degree audit for nursing has any marked areas “no” besides the nursing classes, then you would not be eligible to be accepted until completed. I would message your advisor. I did not put my application in until my advisor told me to do since I was transferring credits from another college. Good luck!

I ran into a similar problem in fall when I was preparing to apply. I had a xfer credit that was eligible in 2015, but ineligible last fall because Valencia no longer offered the equivalent course in their catalog. I ended up having to take a humanities course last term to get it satisfied.

The deans did, however, grant the course attributes required for graduation. Did they state anything like that in your petition? I'm hoping there's something in there that they can use for your app!
