VA Proficiency Nurse I to II Assistance

Hello... I am also trying to write for Nurse 2 (currently Nurse I Level 3) and have been denied a couple of times already, although have several years of experience and a BSN.

Work really hard day everyday, initiated a few projects and attended workshops. Also mentor new hires on a regular basis as well.

I am not that great at writing and unfortunately have had no success getting help within my unit. It seems like I am on my own?

if anyone is willing to share some examples, a sample proficiency and/or pointers, that would be greatly appreciated!

I am really frustrated at this point...

Thank you much in advance!

I am a new hire NP at the VA and need to complete my proficiency packet.  I have been an RN for 18 years with majority of my experience in critical care last 2 years NP in urgent care setting.  I was hoping someone could give me an example of proficiency.  I am having a tough time completing.  Thanks for the help

I also am having trouble writing my VA proficiency to get from Nurse I to Nurse II. Having a hard time finding examples and getting guidance. Would anyone be able/willing to send me what they used to get their promotion? It would be greatly appreciated.

The boards were sunset effective Monday January 29th. The entire process is changing going forward. It is supposed to be more of a natural progression to a Nurse II going forward, and easier because it will be at the hands of your manager and HR. That was all the details given, more information should be forthcoming.

Yes, that is happening later this year at my location as well.

yes moving forward, but I have to still submit one for last year. I recently got my RN and I was told I have to submit one for my 2023 review.

We were told the board would evals received on or before COB 1/24/2024. All other evals will fall under the new standards which have not been released yet. Additionally, everyones dates are changing to fiscal year end. We were told here if it wasn't reviewed before the board was sunset there would not be a 2023 review, but please confirm that with your manager. If that is the case I am sorry.

I have until Feb 16th to turn my review in. So that Managers the can close out FY 2023. HR just sent me this information yesterday.

So you have to show you affected change within your department. Re-writing an SOP, doing an in-service for staff etc. When you get to ethics, pull up the ANA code of ethics and correlate your example to one of the standards. You can use one example for more than one dimension. If you go back on this thread I attached a generic copy of my eval when I was promoted. Best of luck
