Hello... I am also trying to write for Nurse 2 (currently Nurse I Level 3) and have been denied a couple of times already, although have several years of experience and a BSN.
Work really hard day everyday, initiated a few projects and attended workshops. Also mentor new hires on a regular basis as well.
I am not that great at writing and unfortunately have had no success getting help within my unit. It seems like I am on my own?

So writing for your appointment is a bit different. You want to include anything you've done outside of regular patient care. Precepting, charge nurse, assistant nurse manager, super user, fall champion/skin care champion, any committee's you participated in or policy's you wrote. You get points for all of that. If you have won any awards locally, state or national level include those as well. The more points, the higher you will appoint. If you have your BSN with 2 or more years experience, you will come in at a nurse 2. Less than 2 years or ADN you will come in at a Nurse 1 Level 2 or 3. It will be long and break all the rules of resume writing, but if you don't give specifics you won't make as much. I hope this helps.
Yes that does help, thank you. I’m having a hard time with some of the measurable actions, as in statics (exact numbers). I’ve how some nurses have been hired in at lower levels and I don’t want that. I’m trying to Nurse II. I have my BSN and 3.5 years experience.

Thanks so much for this info. I've only been at the VA a year now and always get so overwhelmed OMG! I wish they would provide an example format for us to go off of.
Im so confused with the proficiency uploading process. I have been with the VA for 2 years now and last year I only had to submit my self appraisal proficiency report to my supervisor. I did the same this year with updated information and now see that we are supposed to upload each section separately to the HCM E-performance tab. My proficiency report is in narrative form. Is there a way to just upload it in lieu of each separate tab??? Thanks so much. Lex.
