VA and EC

Published

I am from Virginia and someone showed me a letter from the VA BON and it states that if you are in a distant learning program with less than 500 minimum clinical direct care hours, you have to be finished by 12-31-09 or you will not be able to be licensed in the state of VA, not by endorsement or anything. I just started I have Reprod, Life Span 1,2,3, Transitions, FCCA, Micro, Humanities, possibly Psy, Information Lit., and the CPNE. I will contact my BON on Monday, but I feel sick. This was passed on May 20th of this year. Does anybody know anything about this. I just don't know if I should put it in gear and try to finish or start a traditional program. I really can't afford to go to school three or four days a week. :banghead:

I received a letter today form EC and they did offer me a chance to get my enrollment money back. They also talked about the VA BON decision. I wish they would reconsider, but hey what ya gonna do.:coollook:

I'm glad your gonna get your money back! Good Luck on whatever you decide.

I finally got in touch with the CC Nursing Instructor and she told me all the slots for Spring 09 were already filled, but I could submit my application for next Fall. In that equation I would be finished by 2011. Just thought I would keep yall posted. Decisions, Decisions.....

This is really upsetting news about va. ec students. Joined ec almost a year ago, there's no way I can finish in time.

I am sorry to hear you don't think you will be finished by then. EC is suppose to meet with the VA BON in September, I don't know what will come from it, but there is always hope.

I got a letter from the Virginia BON today -- I was like, OMG, they've sent back my application fee and told me to go away ... LOL! It was just to let me know that my NCLEX-RN application for licensure by exam was received and is all complete, and that they're now just waiting on transcripts from EC, and then they'll have Pearson issue the ATT. Whew. I was a little paranoid.

Good Luck, Lunah:yeah:

The NCLEX seems so minor compared to the CPNE.
