UWYO Online RN-BSN BEWARE

I am now taking back what I said about UWYO being a good online school. I have now found that the people of this forum that had problems with UWYO being inconsistent are correct. I would not recommend the school, because when you get ready to graduate they start tacking on more classes that you need such as Cultural 1,2,and 3, Global Context class. and Upper Divsion course even though you have already taken 20 3000 and 4000 numbered classes. I think that it is a money racket. Please beware if you are thinking about enrolling at UWYO.

When it comes to any BSN program-online or brick, you have to be very careful. I researched several schools and some of them said-you can finish in 1-2 yrs but when you look into their requirement- it would take forever to get your BSN. While i wanted to finish the program in a yr, it was important for me to know which credits i can transfer and what classes i have to take to graduate. It had to be written in stone. Also, am i accepted into the nursing program or do i have to take certain classes then apply to the program. I submitted all my courses to Univ of Maryland-they took all of them.(they are heavy on humanities courses) plus the usual-chem, micro, stat etc . I started in Jan and should be done Dec 2008.

I find this to be tru also. I can't get a clear answer on exactly what classes they transferred. I know a couple of my classes I am going to have to take over there b/c they would not accept them. I can't get a clear picture on when I will be graduating. I may w/draw b/c of this b/c I have a plan on when I wan to acheive things and it seems like it could be forever from what I can tell. I can't get anyone there to respond to my answers in a timely manner.

I hate to hear that. I have started enrollment process there. It seems to be the best fit for me now. Will have to check further.

Good luck. As far as the nursing classes, that part went fine. When it came to all the other classes, they don't know their elbows from their butts. They have the nursing department trying to tell the students what humanities, global, and cultural classes to take. The nursing department and the degree analysist do not work well together and I don't think either of them know what they are doing.

Decided to go with Oklahoma Wesleyan's new online program. They were easy to work with & accepted all previous course work. Only have to take one extra class--pathophysiology. NO chemistry or stats. UOW was requiring course syllabus on 2 of my sciences to review--& these were 10yrs old, so the school I went to was having a tough time finding such to send to them. Matter of fact, my old school said that this was a very unusual request. Who knows??? Also, still haven't heard from UOW what classes they were or were not accepting. Decided at that point to look further elsewhere.
