UWF BSN 2015

U.S.A. Florida

Anyone else out there applying for admissions for fall 2015 at UWF? I am applying as a second-degree seeking student.

Mary_adams,

Too weird on your stats because ours are almost identical except I got a B+ in stats. Exact same overall GPA, TEAS score, and number of recommended classes.

Haha too funny! =]

I just got an email saying they received my nursing application.

It also says decisions will be sent out on May 8th.

Did you two also do volunteer or work hours in a clinical setting? I talked to the nursing advisor today and she told me the volunteer hours was just a very small portion of extra points in the selection process.

I also got an email today saying they received my application! Good luck guys!! I'm more than sure you guys got in!

I submitted 80 documented volunteer hours in a clinical setting.

I got an email first from UWF requesting unofficial copies of all of my transcripts. Somehow I overlooked that part of the application! I was able to submit them right away and then also got the email saying my application had been received and decisions would be emailed out May 8th.

What did the nursing adviser tell you about the order of importance for our stats (i.e. #1: Prerequisite GPA; #2 Overall GPA; etc.)?

From my understanding they weigh most heavily on the TEAS, then prerequisite GPA, overall GPA, extra classes, and the volunteer hours the least.

For those of you who applied to more than one school/program, do you guys mind sharing which schools are your first choice.. or the order of your preferred choice?

Leialaf, UWF is my first choice. UCF Orlando was my number one choice but I missed that deadline because I didn't take my TEAS in time. I'd say UNF,USF,FGCU are my next three after UWF. I honestly can't be picky, I am just praying to get in somewhere! Today I got denied from USF summer 2015, so I will reapply for the fall.

I used to have a number one choice school, but I'm also just hoping to get in somewhere at this point.

Mary_adams, what were your stats for USF? I know my GPA was calculated totally differently there than at UWF. I'm planning to apply there in the fall, but applications don't even open until April.

Anyone have updates on the number of applicants this cycle? I'm pretty sure they should have a solid number since apps were already due.... Should we call and ask? Lol

Genonurse honestly I don't know what my GPA was for USF. I applied pretty last minute so I didn't really look. Was yours higher or lower than UWF's calculation?

Leialaf, I am curious to know the number of applicants too!

My GPA at USF is calculated at a 3.77, but it's only a 3.68 at UWF.

Has anyone that applied to the program also an out of state transfer?
