Anyone else out there applying for admissions for fall 2015 at UWF? I am applying as a second-degree seeking student.

I'm applying this year as well. All of my application material has been submitted, so it's nothing but waiting from here on.

I just saw this post! I'm applying as well. What are your guys' stats, cumulative GPA, prereq GPA, and TEAS? Did you guys take all of the recommended courses? Do you have volunteer/work experience?
I am about to send off my application now that I finally have my shot records. I got my Hep B titer drawn on Tuesday and was told by Genia Taylor that I could go ahead and mark the date of my titer and put "waiting on results."
I have a 3.68 GPA according to the transcript on the UWF website. It's weird and somewhat frustrating how every school evaluates it differently as I have at least a 3.8 at every other school I'm applying to . I have a 3.93 GPA for my prerequisite classes due to the B+ I got taking Stats in the summer back in 2010. I have two of the four recommended courses with my General Psychology and Intro to Sociology. I also have 80 volunteer hours in a healthcare setting documented. FYI I was told that the number of hours doesn't matter as long as it's at least 60 hours.
Does anyone know what guidelines they use for admissions? Do they weigh anything in a certain way? Anyone know how long after the deadline we'll hear decisions?
I don't know what you're worrying about because your statistics are really good! 3.68 GPA is still a really good GPA because they said 3.4 GPA and above is what is considered competitive. What were your TEAS score? Is UWF your first choice?
I heard they score heavily on overall GPA, prereq GPA, and TEAS. The optional stuff comes in after all that plays into factor.
I heard the order of importance is TEAS (weighted heavily), followed by GPA, then things like volunteer/extra classes.
According to last year's stats, above an 80 on TEAS is fairly competitive, but it's based off the applicant pool of the current year so...
I'm going in with an 84.7 TEAS, 3.4~ GPA (not sure of UWF's calculation yet), two volunteer letters, and two extra classes.
We will see. There is too much time until selections are made.

Hi! I'm so glad that someone made this. My GPA is really not impressive because I started college when I was 16 via dual enrollment and I didn't take it seriously enough and it doesn't actually reflect how well I do in school now. Anyway, My TEAS score is an 80 and I have all the recommended courses and two agency letters. I have been trying so hard to make up for my GPA. I have been accepted to PSC for the May class but I would much rather go to UWF! Waiting until they announce their decisions is going to be tough.
@emsurf, what is your GPA? Mine is on the lower side too, much lower side. it's not considered competitive. But I got an 88% on the TEAS, and I did 2 out of the 4 recommended classes and one volunteer experience. I hope it's enough. I guess I just have to wait. Are you applying to other schools too?
I got an 83.3 on the TEAS. I'm applying to FSU, FGCU, UWF, and both the accelerated and traditional nursing programs at USF for the fall. At this point, I honestly do not have a first choice school. I will just be relieved to get into a program. I'll be moving to wherever I get in with my fiancee (who is an RN), so we will also be considering the job opportunities in the area at that time as part of my decision as to what school I go to.

I'm turning in my application this week!
I have a 3.83 overall GPA
3.85 GPA in prerequisite courses
I got an 85.3 on my TEAS
Two of the "bonus" classes
62 volunteer hours in a healthcare setting, and a healthcare certification (pharmacy tech)
I'm so excited/nervous!!
Finally mailed my application packet off today :)
I submitted my application yesterday (Friday, 2/27)! There seems to be a lot of applications already. It drives me crazy how we have to wait until May to find out!
Is anyone else here ONLY applying to UWF? I'm a military spouse, so UWF is my only option for a straight BSN program in the area, unless I do an ADN first and then do an RN-BSN track. That's my next option if I don't get in. 😂
