UW Oshkosh Acclerated Online October Cohort Applicants?

Published

Anyone out there applying to the UW Oshkosh Online Accelerated program? I applied and am excited to hear if I got in! I'm worried about the expense and intensity, but at 40 years old I don't want to waste any time getting to that BSN, which is my ultimate goal. I live in Wisconsin but 3 hours from Oshkosh so it won't be a quick commute for the on-campus weeks.

Just hoping to connect with other applicants while we cross our fingers and wait!

hello rn2bnwi

i'm sorry you didn't get into the program. was that for oct 2009? my cousin is still waiting to hear back from them. she had her phone interview on june 5 and they said they would email people by june 30th. i didn't know they gave decisons already.

:) im actually in the program right now. i didn't get in to the october cohort last year and i was notified about this time. they notify people a lot sooner than they say they will. good luck to your cousin. they offically admit 26 but they might add a 3 to 4 more at their discretion.

I think starting a facebook page is a great idea. Thank you for letting me know. My cousin and I are getting nervous. I pray that she can join you guys in the celebration.

I also got in! But I had to decline. I just got hired to teach A&P at Western Technical College full-time - great pay and benefits. I will get my RN slowly over time there.

I am happy that I opened up a slot for another qualified candidate. Congrats to everyone who's getting those emails. And for those who didn't, there's no such thing as failure, just another opportunity to begin again, but differently.

Congratulations to those who have received notification!! How exciting!!

I haven't heard anything yet. I do have two chem classes that I was going to take over the summer, and I'm hoping that isn't what has held me back. I didn't do them previously because I didn't want to take them without knowing for sure about the program because I'l already signed up for an ADN program for the fall. Still keeping my fingers crossed that I get in.

That's a smart idea. If you don't get in, just remember that it'll be a much more relaxed pace getting to that ADN and then you can always get into a hospital job and do the online ADN-BSN program and have the hospital help with tuition. The Plan B option is not too bad in my opinion - much less of a financial strain. But if time is off the essence the accelerated program is a good option. Good luck either way!

Congrats!! If you haven't gotten an email does that mail you're not in?? When did you have your phone interview? The wait is driving me crazy!!

I had my phone interview June 5th and still have not received any word. I keep checking my email like a crazy person...lol. :)

I am in the same situation here. I have become obessed with checking emails. I am going through a tough time in my life, my grandmother is well.....I am not sure what she is. She is on a Ventilator in a coma, it doesn't look too good but we are praying. I sure could use some good news. I also had my interview June 5th. I am also waiting. Now I am trying to wrap my head around the fact that I may have not made it in. I will be okay. God never gives you what you can't handle. I thank you all for all the positive stories, it has given me hope. If not this cohort the next. I hear that they are trying to start one in February. Good luck to everyone and congratulations JilaJila!!!!!!, I wish they put me in your place :)

Hey Bluelle, did you hear anything yet? the wait is killing me. I am so tempted to call and just ask if am in or not, but I realize that I should just wait.

I have a question. is it that those who are accepted gets an email and letter? or do you also get an email if not accepted? Hearing that others has already gotten a reply in terms of acceptance has got me a bit nervous.

Again good luck to all who is in this waiting game. no matter what we wont give up!

So....I received a letter today through regular postal mail that I was put on the waitlist for the October cohort. In essence if enough people decide not to do the program, then I have a chance of getting in. Does anyone know exactly how many people are put on the waiting list? Or is there anyone that has been through the program or is in it now that was accepted after being put on the waiting list? I guess I'm just interested to know what my odds are, since essentially this isn't a firm denial either.

For those who has been accepted what is the deadline to reserve your spot?

Bluelle - You are right this is not a firm denial letter. I would be ok with being on the wait-list. Congratulations anyway. Being on the waiting list is better than not being in at all.
