Hi all!
I am applying in fall for the 2017-2018 cohort and I know I am making this post pretty early but I am super anxious about this whole process! I would love and be so thankful for any advice, statistics, and info about personal experience/academic background from previous applicants/alumnis. I would also love to meet the people who are applying right alongside me! It is always great to have support. :)

Hi Huskypride,
I am also applying for the Summer 2017 start. I have a BA in nutrition and have taken all of the pre-req courses. Their application doesn't appear on the website till Aug I think. I couldn't find anything on their website about any time limitation on the pre-req courses. I graduated in 2010 so my pre-reqs are about 6-8 years old. Statistics I took in high school as part of the 'college now' program which was transferred to my college in 2006 so that's about 10 years old as well. Do you know anything if there is a time limitation on the pre-reqs? If not then I'm good to go! I'm actually from NJ, but we might be moving to Seattle sometime early next year so just giving myself a head start! Glad to have found someone who is applying for the same year! :)

Hi everyone!
The application is finally available!
I'm planning on applying to both the absn and bsn program this fall/winter as well. I've e-mailed the admissions office and there is no time limit for any of the pre reqs. I majored in accounting from the UW and most of my pre reqs were taken back then. I just need to take human anatomy which I plan on doing over winter quarter.
I'm currently a CNA at a retirement community in Shoreline. I also volunteer in the ER at Swedish and am a volunteer at Bailey Boushay house. Currently I'm just looking for someone who can write my letter of recommendation that I think will put some time into it.
Good luck to you all!

Hello All!
I turned my application in and got invited to the proctored essay on Thursday. I hope to see you all there! Is anyone planning on applying to the BSN program?
Good luck to all of you!! The process is almost over!
I am thinking about applying to the BSN program! I am not positive yet however. Probably will decide in December ahaha

Congratulations to everyone that just finished the proctored essay! I hope it went well for everyone. Just thought I would post for all the people that took the proctored essay out of state. Carolyn Chow stated that about 207 people applied (140 were at the proctored essay at UW, the other 67 took it elsewhere).
Now we wait!

Yeah, I definitely freaked out a lot more than I should've for the proctored essay!
I'm also planning on applying to the BSN program. Honestly, it's only 9 months more and half the cost, so I'm a bit more interested in that program. Plus you can work while going to school and actually enjoy all that UW has to offer.
Ya, I like the idea of being totally immersed in the program for a shorter period of time but I think I'll apply to the BSN program just in case. On the off chance that I get accepted to both programs, then I'll have to make the tough choice.
I found the essay the most difficult part. I think that I was able to answer all parts. I guess we will see in December. I have a difficult time self-analyzing. How about yourselves? What prompt did you choose, what was your experience level with that type of patient?
I chose Prompt A. I don't work with many patients who have long-term inpatient care needs, I thought it would be difficult to care for the patient because he would have trouble communicating. I assumed that I would grow professionally, and be challenged by a patient that I had the least experience with.
For the Math: a) 0.5, can't remember question. b) 62.5 mL/hr, 750ml normal saline bolus over 12 hours. c) 2mL, 650mg Tylenol ordered with dosage was 325mg/mL, if I remember correctly?
I think it will be an easy choice, BSN! Less money, less debt!
