Greetings!
I am creating this post for those planning on applying for the UTSW Nurse Residency Program that will start July 2023. Feel free to chat, connect, or ask questions. Good luck to everyone!
Are there any other out-of-state people here planning on applying to UTSW? I wonder how many applications they get every cohort.
Just had my interview this morning. My best piece of advice is to really be yourself and have an organic conversation. I came in way over-prepared, and had an envisioned way of how things were going to go, and nothing went as planned LOL. The ICU managers were very encouraging and personable, definitely leaders I'd love to work for.

That's good to hear! I have an interview set up with them too, were all the ICU managers interviewing you at the same time? Did they basically ask behavioral/situational questions?
@studentmnurse2021 Thank you!! I don't interview until the 21st, I'm hoping for MICU or Neuro ICU - what about you? Did they ask you to specify which ICU you wanted?
Let me know if you hear anything back soon, I'm interested to see if they start sending offers right away or wait until most interviews are completed.
@kaitc I feel like it depends on which of the three applications you applied for. They didn't ask me which location because I applied for the specialty application. It was already assumed I would want to work at their main hospital. I also don't think they have an ICU outside of their William P. Clement Jr.'s University Hospital location.
kaitc said:hey guys I have a question. my interview is tomorrow and if I can remember correctly, I don't remember seeing different locations to apply under such as Frisco, for the residency. Do they ask what location you want or how does that work?
I think PCU and Acute Medical are for main hospital as well.
