UTMB Summer 2018

I just wanted to start a group for those applying to UTMB nursing summer 2018 start! I didn't see a thread and figured there was some of us who could use one!

I have already taken my teas and will be submitting my application soon! This would be a great place for us to compare timelines and answer any questions I'm sure we all have! I look forward to hearing from other applicants.

Has anyone called to see if they are currently reviewing for summer? They just finalized spring of 2018 and sent out the email to those who were waitlisted so it should be our turn soon!

I'm so nervous. I was looking at the stats on their acceptance patterns and summer looks pretty good but it's still so competitive. I also talked to one of the representatives that go around to different schools and she said that a lot of the people who do not get in did not complete the application entirely or did not meet the minimum requirements. And on those stats it said that the number of applicants was something like 1,560 and the accepted amount was about 1,100. not sure how many were problems with application but that was from their website.

accepted amount is 1100? they only accept around 130 nursing students a semester I believe.

I was looking at Summer 17's page and they were still doing interviews into Februrary!! That's such a long wait! Makes me really nervous. UTMB is my number 1 choice but have applied to spring starts elsewhere and would love to know about UTMB before that starts!

Yes but if you look at the deadline for last summer applicants, I believe it was Oct. 15th. So we are ahead 2 months so it shouldn't be past January.

Does every single person that they accept go through the interview process or are some accepted without an interview? Thanks in advance :)

The only time I've heard of people being accepted without an interview is during the Fall semester application process. This is because they accept applicants that are eligible for the honors program, so they can get started on the application process for the honors program. I haven't seen anyone be accepted sans interview for any spring or summer semester.

So I called this past Thursday and asked if they had started interviews for summer 2018 and they said no. So I asked when they would start and they said "when we start receiving applications from nursingCAS". So yeah, a really broad answer..lol

To create our mystar and all dont they already need to have received our nursingcas app lol....?
