UTMB Summer 2018

I just wanted to start a group for those applying to UTMB nursing summer 2018 start! I didn't see a thread and figured there was some of us who could use one!

I have already taken my teas and will be submitting my application soon! This would be a great place for us to compare timelines and answer any questions I'm sure we all have! I look forward to hearing from other applicants.

Does anyone know if the people that get put on the waitlist get interviewed during the 1st rounds (oct-nov) or don't get an interview invitation until later (feb-march)?

I'm not sure if there's a specific round for people who are waitlisted. But last fall when I was waitlisted I interviewed in the fourth round

Hello Everyone! My name is Daisy and I am trying to apply for the 2018 Traditional BSN track at UTMB. Do y'all know if UTMb accepts repeated/ retaken classes, and how many classes can an applicant retake? I ask because my GPA is a low 3.0, and I would like to retake the classes that are pulling my GPA down. Thank you for taking the time to consider my question, and I hope you have a blessed day!

They will accept repeated classes, but they use both grades you received when calculating your GPA. They don't replace the first grade with the new grade. I didn't find that out until after I applied which worried me that I wouldn't get in because it lowered my GPA some. I'm not sure exactly what my GPA is for UTMB, but I know it was anywhere from a 3.0-3.3 and I got accepted. I got an interview invitation in October, interviewed early December, and found out just before Christmas that I was accepted. I also have CNA experience and scored an 87 on the TEAS. Just wanted to reply so you know you definitely have a chance even if your GPA is lower than others, good luck!!

Hi Everyone!

I decided to join in the fun finally haha!

I applied for summer 2018

My overall GPA is a 3.96

I am not sure what my science GPA is but I think it's a 3.9

My TEAS composite score was an 81.3

Reading: 74.5

Math: 100

Science: 80.9

English: 66.7

I turned in my application August 11th

I interviewed October 27th

I was accepted December 18th

Those are all my Stats!

I will be carpooling to school with my friend also

So I emailed my interviewer who finally had Ms. Botello give me an answer. She said they met yesterday and there should be some emails going out at the end of the week. Also to allow 2-3 more weeks due to the White Coat Ceremony for the Spring 2018 class

So I just received an email today and it says:

Good Afternoon Applicant,

I'm emailing you to see if you would like to be considered for summer 2018 admissions. At this time, all spots are filled, however, you will be automatically placed on the waitlist and I can assure you that we will pull off the summer wait list.

If you would like to be added for the summer wait list, simply respond to this email and let me know that you would like to be added for summer 2018 admissions wait list.

We encourage you to not give up on your nursing goals, there's always other routes, other options, if you have any questions, please feel free to contact me to discuss.

Do yall think there are any more open spots and they'll be handing out more acceptance emails by the end of this week like they said?
