Hi all!

Haven't seen a thread for UTMB Summer 2021 applicants, so I figured I'd start here. I'm hoping to wrap up my application soon pending a TEAS retake to edge it just a little bit higher. I also need to fine-tune my resume and personal statement.

I also get in waitlist today, I have a question to those who admitted, that how much time frame they give you to accept or decline to the invitation?

hi everyone, I am currently accepted into Spring 2021 and was checking this thread for a friend who also applied for Summer just like yall.

congrats to those who got accepted! and for those who are waitlisted, don't lose hope (however it may take awhile for you to get off the wait list as I recently just got a new classmate who got off the waitlist like last week for Spring 2021)

if youre accepted I highly recommended yall look at the immunizations we need and get started on them! there are quite a few and it could be overwhelming with all the other stuff needed  ( keep in mind of the dates bc some are very time specific)

UT health usually gives responses after UTMB since UTMB application is way early. You could dorm/live around galveston or also commute if you live not too far. (UTMB clinicals are pretty spread out so some are located in the med center so keep that in mind!)

I am not on the waitlist but my friends who are did receive the email. Fingerprinting and background checks can take a couple of months for the blue card to get to you, so UTMB just wants you to be ready - some people who applied for Summer 2021 and waitlisted for Spring 2021 are being pulled to start in Spring 2021 (early).

Adding updates here for those who will be scouring the forum later. My status has remained as "Complete," but waitlist emails went out on October 27th. I'm not sure what that means as of yet. 

If I calculated my statistics correctly (big if):

  • Undergrad GPA: 2.95
  • Grad GPA: 3.42
  • Combined GPA: 3.195
  • Nursing GPA: 3.62
  • Nursing Science GPA: 3.32
  • TEAS: 92% overall (89R, 94M, 92S, 92E)

I don't think my Personal Statement or Resume were very compelling, and that hurt me in the selection process. My GPAs were also not as strong as some of those who were admitted. I suspect I'm going to ultimately end up getting denied but will update the thread if anything changes.

Hello everyone! I was accepted into the Summer 2021 program and I was wondering if there was a facebook group set up for accepted students. Here are my stats as well:

Prerequisite GPA: 3.68

Overall: 3.72

TEAS: 90.7

I feel like my personal statement played a big part in my application, and the TEAS probably strengthened it as well.

There are two ways to create a special area for your cohort, that are Terms-of-Service approved.

One is to create a facebook page.  This link is allowed to be posted.

  The other is to create a "Club" within the site, by clicking on the Breakroom link (upper left-hand corner, in the yellow bar) and in the green area, click Start a Breakroom Club.

Any other references or links posted are not TOS-approved, and will be removed.

Hey guys! 
I’ve been put on the waitlist, I was notified on 10/27/2020. Since then, I’ve received another e-mail for fingerprints. Has anyone been moved off the waitlist to being admitted? Does anyone have any tips during this waiting time? I’m starting to lose my mind from checking my e-mail and portal every day.

I was not placed on the waitlist or emailed for fingerprints. My application still stays "Complete" on the portal. Anyone else? Stats are:

Overall GPA 3.4

Pre-req GPA 3.54

Science Pre-req GPA 3.1

TEAS 90.7

Psyc BS degree, 1 year MA experience, 1 year emergency scribe experience
