Hello everyone! I plan on applying to UTMB for Spring 2018 entry and can't find a post on it, so I decided to make one! I am taking my TEAS end of April. I already have a degree from the University of Houston in Health Communication and minor in Nutrition. I am finishing my last two prerequisites (A&P2, Microbiology) right now at a community college. Anyone else looking to apply? Deadline is coming up next month, so I thought it would be awesome to get a group thread going! Would love to hear from others applying!
A bit curious... where are you taking micro? Obviously you are welcome to not share. I am plowing through micro and it is a lot of work. We have lost half of our class. í ½í¸®
Same here! We lose 1/3 of the class. Probably more after this exam. I am taking it at SJ CC. what about you? Did my pre-reqs at UH and was planning on doing it there too but it was so expensive

How funny. I am at San Jac South. I avoided Central to avoid your professor. We have an amazing teacher. Love her. I wish I would have done my prerequisites at UH. But yeesh it is so expensive. Just two more weeks. We got this!

Oh no! I am at SJ South now!! WE must be in the same micro class haha.
I think I made a bad decision because I only took my TEAS and not the HESI. So I'm very limited on where I can apply... Then for the LVN/RN programs at CC's, they want HESI and I'm competing against everyone who has 4.0's in their sciences... It sucks to put yourself out like this, and know that you might be rejected!
You are not alone in only taking the TEAS. I truly believe that UTMB takes a holistic approach when looking at applicants. It isn't just all about the GPA! I could tell that during my interview. They want to get to know you! They also want know that you have the drive to be successful in the program and in the nursing field. Don't get down on yourself! Knock their socks off with a rockin' personal statement and personality! Smile, laugh, and be yourself!
