UTMB Spring 2018

Hello everyone! I plan on applying to UTMB for Spring 2018 entry and can't find a post on it, so I decided to make one! I am taking my TEAS end of April. I already have a degree from the University of Houston in Health Communication and minor in Nutrition. I am finishing my last two prerequisites (A&P2, Microbiology) right now at a community college. Anyone else looking to apply? Deadline is coming up next month, so I thought it would be awesome to get a group thread going! Would love to hear from others applying!

Has anybody had any of their MyStar stuff change? Such as holds, or green light, or something else? I sent my updated transcripts yesterday, but other than that nothing has changed for me. I wonder if we will get emails announcing the commencement of application reviews. HAHA I felt like that last sentence was something like the hunger games! Good luck to everyone!

Lol! Nope, nothing has changed in Mystar for me either.....I will be sure to post a message if/when mine does. Keep smiling and laughing!

I have two close friends who both applied for fall 2017. One had her interview back in March and has already been accepted and as for the other one, she was just interviewed this past Monday. She was sent an email saying she was wait listed and to set up an interview. I asked her how the interview went and she said it went pretty good over all. I also asked if she thought they had more interviews for fall and she said no, and that only had a few more being interviewed. My guess is that they are finishing up with fall and hopefully in the next coming weeks they will start looking at spring.

@jules would you recommend also applying for the summer since it seems you would not hear back until after the summer deadline passes just in case

I absolutely do and in fact I went ahead and applied for Spring because I had interviewed but not heard back by the time the Spring deadline came. It seems like money out the window but

I wanted in.

So did you revise anything such as a personal statement or did you just send the same application.

I kept it all the same because I knew that I had at least gotten an interview so that part I felt confident in.

Nurse2Bkd - My To Do list has my remaining pre requisite courses listed. That changed a few weeks ago. Other than that I have nothing under holds and I have the green dot and "completed" under admissions which has always been there.

Today I took my daughter to Galveston for the day and we drove by UTMB on the way back home. There was a beautiful sunset starting as we drove by the campus...it was a special moment. I said a little prayer that if I get accepted that I'd remember that moment if/when things get tough in school. My daughter thinks I'm a dork, but I wanted to share anyway... :-)

Do you mind me asking what remaining prerequisites you have?
