UTMB Spring 2016

Howdy! I couldn't find a thread for Spring 2016, so I figured I would start my own. I'm having trouble with this whole application thing (mostly stress!), so I would love to talk to others going through this same process!

For anyone still waiting on a decision, I called and spoke with Laura. She said they are working on them now, and that all admission decisions will be sent by the 15th.

are there still a lot of people waiting to hear back? or is it just a few that's left. do you know by chance?

I don't know how many are still waiting. I don't think they've sent any acceptances since my interview wave. I interviewed August 11 and haven't seen anyone get acceptances since then.

If anyone is interested in moving to Galveston before school begins and needs a place to stay until January (I will be moving in January to a house), I have an extra bedroom that is already furnished and has everything you need (even an Xbox) for 600 bucks a month.

I think some of us who interviewed in July are still waiting on a decision.

If anyone is interested in moving to Galveston before school begins and needs a place to stay until January (I will be moving in January to a house), I have an extra bedroom that is already furnished and has everything you need (even an Xbox) for 600 bucks a month.

For those with houses or renting houses, any suggestions on realtor or advice on how you found the house I'd appreciate! I also have a dog which makes renting a house really desirable for me.

Anyone has feedback on Ferry Rd apartments?

I went and put my deposit down on an efficiency apt on Ferry Road like 2 wk's ago. It's pretty small, but it'll do the job. Rent is $360, so it's affordable for us students! But the downside to that is that there isn't a kitchen and you can't use open flames, so cooking is going to be a challenge for me lol 😪 I went on a super rainy day so I got a feel of how it'll be. Flooding down that strip of road can get bad and the lights went out when I was there. There is no back up generator.. But I guess that's just Galveston area :/ Also, Ms. Janelle said they were going to try and replace the washer and dryers. I hope I was helpful! Lmk if you have anymore questions :)

Yes I received mine through an email. Mine is a conditional acceptance because I have to finish pathophysiology but I paid my deposit immediately after I got it lol.

I interviewed in July too. Still no word. How many of us are still hanging in there?? 4? 5? Wishing we were talking about the Facebook group & vaccinations....

Greetings, everyone. I interviewed in the 14th of August and received my admission on the 3rd of September. I was just wondering what everyone is planning for housing? Anyone have suggestions? Flat mates anyone?
