UTMB Spring 2016

Hello! I'm applying too. My sister was just accepted to UTMB so I might be able to help.

Are you as stressed out as I am? The application just opened today and I'm already going absolutely nuts!

Yeah! I've been emailing and calling nursingcas this past week for my questions. I wish they were open today.

Yes I am! I graduate in December!

Oh awesome! Did you apply anywhere else?

I'm only applying to UTMB right now but if I'm not accepted there I will apply to a few more places. Are you applying anywhere else?

I'm just applying there for now. If I don't get in I'll keep trying, and I might try UT Houston too. Not sure yet. I'm from Galveston, so I would hate to drive to Houston every day. Did you sister have a pretty high GPA? How'd she do on the TEAS?

I think it was 3.2 - 3.4ish for the prereqs. Maybe a little lower. She got higher than the national avgs on the TEAS. I want to say she made in the low 80s and the averages were in the 60s and 70s . She said to do well on the TEAS. It's really important!

We need letters of recommendation, right? That's what I've heard. I'm confused because NursingCAS asks for references. I'm not sure if they're the same thing...

Oh okay cool. I have a 3.8 total GPA and my not totally sure about my pre reqs, but I know it's above a 3.5. I'm hoping that helps because I suck when it comes to tests! I've taken it twice and gotten a 78 and an 80. I'm taking it again on Thursday lol. Theres not a spot for letters of recommendation on the application, unless that's what the references are. I filled that part out today, and it said that an email was sent to the people. Under my references it has who I sent it to and then "requested" so they have to do something- I don't think they have to write a letter though.
