UTMB Spring 2016

Published

Howdy! I couldn't find a thread for Spring 2016, so I figured I would start my own. I'm having trouble with this whole application thing (mostly stress!), so I would love to talk to others going through this same process!

My gpa was a 3.37 and TEAS 85. She wouldn't give out individual information to me but I am assuming I am also on hold then based on what y'all said. Does anyone have any information about what that means though?

To be on hold generally means that UTMB could accept you, but they're keeping their options open to find stronger applicants. I applied last fall and was put on hold and later denied so it could go either way. Hope this helps..

Ok, so you applied at UTMB last fall, interviewed, was put on hold, then still denied?? Oh my goodness, you are tough! Have you been accepted now??

Yeah unfortunately. No I haven't been accepted yet, got put back on hold after my interview.

So, you have been put on hold twice now? Dang, that's harsh! They should just accept you & give you a chance! You obviously are determined & dedicated!

How ow did you find out about your hold? Was this current hold different from the last??

Yeah that is tough. In the meantime, have you applied at other schools at all? Improving your TEAS and retaking classes to improve the GPA can help, depending on what your situation is... UT-Tyler takes TEAS as well I think.

TWU takes the TEAS as well. The HESI is actually easier than the TEAS, and UT Houston uses the HESI test.

I was stuck in a complicated situation I took my teas 3 times my 3rd score was the best however most schools only take the first two test scores. Utmb is the only school I know of that doesn't look at that so that's the only place I applied.

well, I took both HESI and TEAS, which practically doubled my options for school choices. Besides there are also ADN programs... Something to look into I guess...

Hopefully we hear something today!

Was there a Facebook page for Class of Spring 2017 made? Can't seem to find it.

I also applied for the scholarships today and it wasn't hard at all. I advise everyone to at least try for them if you need it :).

Not yet on the fb page. The school said to contact them and they'd get it started once the new semester got started.

Where did you go to apply for the scholarships? Were essays required? What all did they entail?
