I just got off the phone with UTMB and spoke to one of the coordinators for the interviews. She said that all of the e-mails have pretty much been sent out.

they said that not everyone get's selected for a review and that they are still looking over some files but the will not have another interview date set.

the acceptance letters will go out first but those of us who are rejected will receive a letter a week or two later. i am not giving up because i have known some people to get in without an interview a week or two before class begins.

if you haven't received an e-mail i would call and see where i stand. she said that they were still reviewing my application.

I spoke to "D" who transfered me to someone who coordinates the interviews. I called back to speak to someone who could tell me my application status who was a woman but I didn't ask either of the two ladies their names. She did say that they had a few sluggars who were still reviewing applicants. They won't be having any other interviews after this Fridays.

Does anyone know the numbers as far as how many of us are being interviewed and then from that how many will be accepted? :confused:

from someone at the son:

we received 337 applications for both bsn programs. we will interview approximately 200. we plan to admit 60 bacc2 students and 70 traditional bsn students.

So if given an interview...that basically guarantees a 60% chance of acceptance? I still don't like those odds as much. I hope I rock this interview!!! I have no doubt for ya'll, but a 20 year old?! They're gonna laugh at me lol.

I admit...it will be good to graduate and be done when I'm 21, but I'm just afraid they're going to think I'm too young to handle it or take it seriously enough...I dunno, here I go being a pessamist lol.

Oh my I've been gone for a couple of days and I had to read like 5 pages!!! Congrats to everyone who got interviews!!! For those people who are moving to Galveston and need a roommate, I would like to get a roommate in the nursing program. I figured we could help each other out.

Thanks for checking for us Jade...I thought for sure they would be sending out more interviews.There are probably some slackers holding on to applications..and your right..I think it was the summer or Fall 2009 group that had a young lady who did not get an interview, but was called after everyone got their acceptance letters and she was offered a position.

I won't stop praying and you guys should keep checking in with UTMB because there is gonna be a lot of open slots after acceptance letters are sent out. It's like that every semester.

In the past there have been a lot of "young" folk accepted. I think being 20 is definately in your favor Katie Lou!

My age can work for OR against me..It just depends on the interviewers opinion of 40 something year olds and that worries me. But I will go in there with my head high and my most chipper smile and win one for the Gipper!
