Hey guys Im making this thread so all of the applicants for UTMB Spring 2010 can follow each other through the process and help each other out! The application deadline is coming up soon! Goodluck to all!:nuke: I know they are only exepting 60 for the spring.
Hey everyone I got an interview invite for next Friday! I am BACC2 so for those of you in that program looks like they are still sending out invitations, and I believe that will be the last day for them. Did anyone already have their interview with UTMB? What kind of questions did they ask?
Hey Hung,
You do get good experience as a CNA, I was one for more than eight years and it is true most CNA have more knowledge in certain areas than grad nurses. But it takes a while to get that and if you are going to start in Jan and graduate in December from Cna your experience I think is best learned at nursing school. I say when you start your clinicals get with a CNA because most love to help nursing students because in the long haul you are making their workload 50% lighter. I know I loved to see nursing students turn that corner on my shift.
Congrat! casey tate..be yourself! dress professional!! try to make your examiner believe that you are ready for the program. Again, photocopy all unofficial transcripts including your pre-req courses to show your GPA that you are done with all of it. Finally, if you have any cert in nursing or experience working in any nursing environment say it with pride and lots of smile... you will be fine.
Hi Everyone,
I've been lurking for a while. Just wanted to say "Hi". I had my interview for the Bacc2 program back on Oct. 16th. Just wanted to let CaseyTate412 know what they asked me. The person I interviewed with was really nice and interested. The first question of course was why do you want to be a nurse. Several of the questions involved scenarios concerning the workload, how will you handle it, what will you do if you get overwhelmed, how will your life change when you enter the program. They really want to be sure you can handle the workload. The questions were actually not as hard as I thought they would be. If you have other responsibilities that may appear to detract from your focus on the program - be sure to address those proactively. Hope that helped. My interview lasted about 20 minutes or so. Be sure to ask questions.
Hope that helps. Congrats on the interview and Good Luck!:anpom:
Best wishes,
deb.
Welcome hopefulBacc2010!:nuke: I was also wondering that as well. When will you guys in BACC2 group here if you got in or not? I thought you guys would hear by now. I thought I heard someone who went to one of the first scheduled interviews on the 16th say in 2-3 weeks.
