UTMB Spring 2010

Published

Hey guys Im making this thread so all of the applicants for UTMB Spring 2010 can follow each other through the process and help each other out! The application deadline is coming up soon! Goodluck to all!:nuke: I know they are only exepting 60 for the spring.

tell me about it Katielou07! I'm thinking we will find out in the begining of October. I looked at past threads and it looks like after the applicants turn in the application 3 months later they find out Via email if they get an interview! I applied to another school in my area and the apps were due June 1 and I should find out within the next week if I get an interview to that school too.... Well see what happens!

I wonder if UTMB started to review apps yet? I'm going to call tomorrow and check and I'll post here right away!

thanks misspink!!! I would greatly appreciate that. We probably all look so desperate...like little puppies in a window "PICK ME PICK ME"! haha...oh well. If they would get on the ball and starting sending out interview invites we might leave them alone. I don't know if I can wait a whole month! But hopefully we won't have to wait long after interviews to find out if we've been accepted. I would like to know before November so I can start making moving arrangements.

I applied to both UTHSC and UTMB. I would prefer to go to UTHSC considering I live in the med-center , but I will be happy with either one. I am waiting to see how I did on my NET test. I got a 97 MATH and 67 Reading which is totally frustrating. I re-took it and should know anyday now how I did. I saw UTHSC has already started sending out interview letters which almost made me vomit when I read it. This is becoming very REAL all the sudden. I am thinking bad thoughts...have anxiety through the roof...questioning if I am good enough....what if I dont get into either school....all that jazz. I need to stop though. Its in Gods hands now and whats meant to be will be.

I graduated on the Deans List for Surgical Tech. program here in Houston back in 2001. I currently own a business thats healthcare related. I have a 4.0 Science GPA and a 3.7 Nursing Pre-req and 3.6 regular GPA. I am hoping that will be enough

Good luck Emag! I hope you did good on the Net, considering you were only a few points away from a 70. Your right its all in God's hands, again goodluck :)

OK I sent enrollment svc's a e-mail today asking if they had recieved my updates transcripts and why its says TSI incomplete on my e-connect. She said the TSI goes away once my application has been "coded"....I replied and asked her what did it mean to "code" as well as when they will start mailing out interview letters....i will let you know what she says

will anyone else be commuting from Houston? I will be! Also, do you know if UTMB is affiliated with hospitals in the med-center? It would be nice to do some clinicals by my home (i live in med-center)

Emag,

I plan to commute from the NW Houston area..249 to I45 South and at the open house they said most of the clinicals are in the MED CENTER. The clinicals that are on the island are mostly reserved for those students who live on the island.

Also, my Econnect shows:

Texas Success Initiative Received

And that changed when they received my transcipts from Lone Star. I'm not sure why yours says incomplete because it's the first thing that shows on any transcript, even if you still have courses in progress. Sounds like they still haven't keyed in your transcript info!

So this may be a stupid question, but we don't know patho anymore do we? I was taking it this fall, but after seeing all the posts about only needing an elective science (which i already have) i dropped it. I dropped it early so it wouldn't show up as a W on my transcript. I'm just double checking that we absolutely DO NOT need it if we have another science in its place. I was hoping it wasn't for future applicants after Spring 2010.

You have to have either 3 hours or BIOL or CHEM to satisfy the Patho requirement. I found that out from Dora at UTMB who is in charge of that stuff.

It also shows that new info on the website:

Elective Science(Pathophysiology, Add'l Chemistry, or Add'l Biology) 3

http://www.son.utmb.edu/studentaffairs/programs/baccalaureate/BSN_Program_PrerequisiteCourses.html

So General Bio is ok? I took it my first semester of college before I was a nursing major. That makes me SO happy! I didn't want to take it for no reason...although it would be helpful to know the material, I didn't want it hurting my GPA. Thanks for answering so quickly :)

And who can I call to make sure they have all of my stuff? I know it shows up on E-Connect, but I wanna talk to a real person lol. I just wanna double check that I have all the classes I need!
