UTMB Spring 2010

Published

Hey guys Im making this thread so all of the applicants for UTMB Spring 2010 can follow each other through the process and help each other out! The application deadline is coming up soon! Goodluck to all!:nuke: I know they are only exepting 60 for the spring.

i know jazzynurse2b..i was surprised about txjeepgirl's posting, but someone in another room did say that uthsc-h goes thru the applications and weeds out the applicants who don't qualify for one reason or another first..so maybe utmb does the same thing.

i don't want to open my email from utmb and the first line says:

"thank you for your interest but!!!

but if that does happen...i'll apply again in november! :D

hi once again i spoke to utmb and they confirmed they havent started the applications yet.

yes ms sealy you are right. I think I might pass out r someting. LOL. I do have PV as a back up plan, I thought I would hear from UTMB before I hear from PV their deadline is Oct.1, but at this rate look like I might be hearing from them at the sametime.

ms sealy - i agree with you if for some reason i did get an e-mail rejecting me i would also just re-apply for november.

jazzynurse2b - thanks for calling utmb and asking! omg i was so sure that they had began since the pp got that rejection e-mail. oh man, i was hoping we would hear something from them with in a week or so:bluecry1:

oooh..i forgot to update you guys......i did decide to apply to pv as a backup..i'm taking the net on 9/19/09. i got my class evaluation from pv in the mail, but i havent gotten anything like that from utmb yet. pv breaks down your gpa into three categories.

university requirement gpa 3.8

support area requirement gpa 4.0

departmental gpa 3.84

i like the way pv breaks down their gpas cause it gives me a 4.0 in the sciences! but i really don't have a 4.0 cause i got bs in a&p i and ii, but for some reason pv doesnt count these classes with the science....go figure..

thanks for calling utmb jazzy!! my big plan is to wait until 9/10 to get my invitation or to call....let's see if i make it!

jade409281 that's all we can do...somebody gonna make room for me in their nursing school....even if i have to sit on the lawn!

oh man....I dont know if my nerves can take it! I applied to UTA and UTMB. But now I am confused on where I want to go. It would be very hard to leave my family, friends & fiance for 15 months. But I do know one thing, and that is both schools are great!

ummmmm misspink86...i thought we had a deal? we are going to interview at utmb together, get accepted, become roommates, classmates, then graduate together form utmb! did i misunderstand?

ha ha! lol we still have a deal! I always keep my promises :) Lets hope I get an interview! I know you are with your awesome GPA :)

What I love about UTMB is that it is a 15 month program and the faculty is so hopeful!

OK guys I emailed Mrs. ****** at UTMB about the repeated courses and this was her response:

Thank you for your interest and application to our School of Nursing. Our baccalaureate admissions policy contains two statements regarding course repeats:

- No prerequisite course may be repeated more than once.

- No more than two of the prerequisite courses may be repeated.

Below is the link to our General Information catalog. The two statements above are on page 7 of the catalog, which is page 18 of the PDF document.

With regards to the student’s statement below, we do not consider D a passing grade.

If these policies are a concern for your application, you should make an appointment to speak with the Associate Dean of Admissions, Dr. *****. Her assistant can be reached at 409-772-8307.

Please let me know if I can be of further assistance.

-----What I do want to know though is how did that person know that was even an issue for her? Can we see that on our E-Connect? Did she get something in the mail stating she couldnt apply due to repeated courses? I want to know I am 100% in the clear for that and dont know how to go about that

Gurl those high GPAs don't mean nothing in nursing school..at least that's what I hear...but I plan to sleep, study, and use the restroom once in awhile when we get in!

Chemistry is going great! how are classes going for all of you??

ha ha I plan on doing the same thing!!! Well I have to go to class talk to ya'll later!
