Hey guys Im making this thread so all of the applicants for UTMB Spring 2010 can follow each other through the process and help each other out! The application deadline is coming up soon! Goodluck to all!:nuke: I know they are only exepting 60 for the spring.

I'm taking it at UTA, bc I live in the dallas area :)

Ugh I didn't apply to UTMB because they required Patho and I do not have the option to take it anywhere. But I've taken Biology 1 and 2 that blows!1

Yeah !!! I don't have to take path and there science courses doesn't expire. But what I don't understand is why would we have to take it as a pre req when the advisor said we have to take it in the nurse program.

jazzynurse2b yes!!!! i'm so glad for you and she is right, we do take it during the first semester in nursing school. i'm taking an 8 week online patho course so hopefully it won't be too bad.

The rules changed at UTMB. Recently,they are stating that you are not required to take pathophysiology,but instead you can take another biology or chem class that isn't required towards your nursing prerequisites.Biol 1 and 2 are acceptable in place of pathophysiology.

Where are you taking patho?I'm still thinking about taking even though I don;t need it to help me in nursing school. If I can find it at a school that's convienent, I would love to go to class rather than do it online.I usually like taking my science classes in person,but all of the one's i know of are out of the houston area.

mau00 i was very surprised to learn at the utmb open house that they would allow any extra biology course take the place of patho, but the student ambassador highly recommended taking patho anyway. she said it helped her a lot when she took it again at utmb. that's why decided to take it. i don't have any extra biology classes to use in it's place either :( so ill take it online at lone star college. im taking the hprs section

Yeah,i believe it would, that's why i want to take it.Yeah I love online classes too,but mostly for all of my non-biol/chem courses I usually do online. Is it too late to register at lone star college? How are the teachers for patho there?

mau00 classes start on 8/24. you have plenty of time to sign up. last year i learned about the rate my professors web site and that's how i have chosen some of the best teachers. we don't have too many choices for the patho class, so i'm taking a chance on it. the class i’m signed up for has ms. * ***** listed as the teacher, but she says she is not the actual professor. i will email her next week to see if the teacher is known yet. the patho classes are:

[color=#002955](hprs 2301 : pathophysiology) which seems to be a basic intro class, anyone who meets the pre requs can take it. (i’m taking this one)

the other patho ([color=#002955]biol 2305 : pathophysiology) says "it's specifically for those transitioning from rn to bsn." (i'm sure anyone who meets the pre requs can take it too)

yeah rate my professor was my key tool to the good professors throughout college.I agree with you, whenever I look on ratemyprofessor for patho,you don't really see many teachers I suppose since it's a more specific class,than like general biol,or psyc or something like that.

Oh ok,pretrty much all schools start the last week on august,but I have to send in my transcript and send in my application,and sometimes they take forever to send the schools my transcript.I may have to just pick it up.Also, like at san jacinto college,where I was going to take patho previously,they have a cut off where you have to pay for your fall classes by next thursday August 17th.But I don't know it it's only for regular start dates.Do you happen to know how many seats are left for the remaning 2301 patho classes?

mau00 i just checked online to see how many seats are available for patho 2301 and there are about 5 people enrolled. oh, and our payment deadline is 8/15/09, but you can sign up for classe until the week classes start. you just have to pay the same day. we also have a payment plan. you pay half up front and setup the last two payments online.

but check rate my professor on this teacher first. i talked to a current nursing student at utmb and she took this teacher and said she was great, but the rate your professor comments werent that glowing.

Hey Ms Sealy,

I'm thinking about taking the online patho class that u are in just in case for TWU, also if I can make anyting easier in nursing school I am besides I gotta take an intro to computer course for PV.
