UTMB Spring 2010

Published

Hey guys Im making this thread so all of the applicants for UTMB Spring 2010 can follow each other through the process and help each other out! The application deadline is coming up soon! Goodluck to all!:nuke: I know they are only exepting 60 for the spring.

***jazzynurse2b i didn't have to take it because i took a&p 1 &2 before 2009.i got lucky.

i don't understand. i took a & p i and ii in 2008. does that mean i don't have to take patho? or did i miss something (which i tend to do a lot lol).

you think i may have missed the deadline for pv?.i'll call the main campus and ask tomorrow:)

***mau00

im taking the pathophysiology online at lone star college (the hprs course). i verified with utmb that both these classes are acceptable. they also said we could take any biology class in place of the patho class.

[color=#002060]"thank you for your interest in the utmb school of nursing. either of the pathophysiology courses listed below from lone star college will be acceptable for our pathophysiology requirement."

Oh really?????I can take any biol class? why don't they put that on the site.I'm going to call them tomorrow thanks for the info

No problem mauoo. I made them repeat that NEW info several times at the open house on June 20th! The student ambassador recommended taking patho, she said it will help a lot, but an additional biology course is still optional. Let us know what you are told today.

I took pathophysiology at San Jac online with professor ******* (south campus, I think). She was GREAT! I highly recommend taking the course with her if you can. I wouldn't call it super easy, but she was very helpful. The san jac course fulfills the prerequisite, and it's cheap since it's at a community college.

Thanks toasterbell! Someone else mentioned that teacher on another thread, but she doesn't appear to be teaching the class anymore. I did an exhausting search a few months ago at the San Jac website and it seems she is only teaching A&P this semester.

Jazzynurse2b, thanks for that information! I will be sure to contact PV soon after I send in all of my information. The last time I checked, the deadline was Oct. 1st, so hopefully we should have plenty of time to get everything done.

You are right, the deadline for UT-H Spring 2010 program is Sept.1st, so I was shocked when they contacted me to come in for an interview. There was only about 10 of us there, and they told us we were the first to be called since we had already finished all of our classes and had completed the application process. I'm pretty sure they will begin the majority of the interviews after the Sept. 1 deadline.

Ms Sealy, if you find out anything different regarding the deadline when you call PV today , please let me know. Thanks!

got it! the application deadline for the spring 2010 semester for pv's main campus is november 2nd.

pv's school of nursing application deadline for the spring 2010 semester is still october 1st.

Thanks for that info Ms Sealy!!! Still plenty of time to apply!

ms sealy,

You're totally right. I had no idea she wasn't going to be teaching the class this semester. :-( It looks like only someone called **** ***** is teaching all the patho classes at San Jac this semester.

BTW, did anyone notice that A&M Health Science Center now has an accelerated program opening for Spring? I can't move to College Station or Round Rock right now, but I figured I'd let y'all know in case anyone else wanted to try. Applications open in September and close at the middle or end of October. www.tamuhsc.edu I think.

I took Dr. ***** over the summer for a 5-week course online. It's totally doable. Hard but doable. He is also very helpful in any questions or concerns you have.
