UTMB Spring/Summer 2019

Published

Hi I know it's a few months early, but have anyone started getting their application/essay ready to apply to UTMB for 2019? Lol I'm nervous looking at blogs from previous years. I'm also scared to take the TEAS. I plan on applying for Summer 2019.

I applied for Spring 2019 and haven't heard back about anything. I called today and I was given the information for the person who had my application.

I haven't heard back either. I'm not sure why so I called and they gave me the info for the person who had my application.

What did they tell you when you called? They are very helpful whenever you call, anyone in their admissions office is more than willing to help and very courteous. It surprises me that some people have not heard back. However, whenever I applied for Fall, it took almost five months to get a response. Unfortunately, it was a denial, but for Spring I received an invitation to interview about two and a half months after the deadline. The wait is difficult but everyone will hear back. Best of luck!

If this helps anyone who is worried about their stats feel a bit better, then here it is!

My cumulative GPA was a 3.2

My Nursing core GPA was around 3.1

My science GPA was 2.78. I did retake a class and it bumped me to a 3.0 but when i applied and got accepted for spring 2019, the class i was retaking was not a part of my gpa.

My teas was 84

I did, however, have a BS in Nutrition. But as you can see, my stats weren't very good at all and i got accepted the first time i applied. Dont be too worried and hope for the best! Stay positive! Goodluck :)

Also another thing that will boost your chances of getting in is the personal statement! If you have a very strong personal statement they will give you an interview! When I went for my interview.. they didn't ask me one thing about grades or even the TEAS. It was all about me, and my personal statement!

Hi y'all!

I applied for the Fall 2018 semester and was interviewed for the waitlist. I was put on the waitlist and never heard back. I missed the Spring 2019 application deadline due to me forgetting the change of timezones :/ However, on Monday I received an email saying that they would consider me for the Spring 2019 admissions although the spots were filled. I'm assuming this means they have transferred me to the Spring 2019 waitlist. I also submitted my application for the Summer 2019, so hopefully it all works out!

Wow! Congratulations!

SO I interviewed this morning. I had to park a mile away from campus because roads were flooded out and I'm ignorant to the layout of the area. LOL! I walked to UTMB with my slacks hiked up and my heels in my bag. I trudged through a solid foot of water in some parts. Over all I enjoyed the interview experience. I feel like I talked a whole lot, but my interviewer didn't type much... i wish everyone else so much luck! I hope I'm accepted and can appreciate the campus in the sunlight and not with flooding streets. í ½í¸‚

What an experience! Glad you made it safely. Who was your interviewer?!

She was an older woman with very nice blue eyes! Short hair and teaches undergrad in the program. I honestly don't remember her name. ): She said the admissions committee convenes next on the 24th.

I dont want to type her name on here but did it start with a W? I had her yesterday and she was so nice. She was definitely more old fashioned, but I felt my interview went very well with her. Did she hand you a card at the end? I guess since I interviewed for waitlist I had some different questions. As I was watching she didn't really write much as well. Hope you think it went well!

I was sent an early admission email for acceptance. They day I have to accept by Sept. 28th, but I'm waiting out for TWU since I live in Houston. It comes with $2000 for the first semester. Should I pay the deposit and wait?

Did you interview for the summer or were you just accepted?
