UTMB Spring 2015 Applicants

Published

Hey Y'all,

I read through the whole UTMB Fall 2014 thread and thought I'd start the next semesters thread (because I couldn't find one). I know the application doesn't close until May 31st, but thought it would be helpful to start this now.

Hold on, guys. Why all of you are talking about teas. It's program asks for Hesi2? Come on, tell me is there any wrong information? I am studying for hesi2.

UTMB asks for the TEAS. Here is an excerpt from the UTMB website.

Please check your application status on Nursing CAS to determine when it has been verified. It takes approximately four weeks from the date of application for UTMB to receive your application from Nursing CAS. As soon as we receive it, Enrollment Services will send the UTMB supplemental application via email. When the supplemental application is returned, we will then proceed to have our Admissions Committee review your application. Note: BSN applicants also need to ensure their TEAS scores are submitted directly to UTMB. Please refer to the Approximate Application Timeline under the Future Students menu on our website for more details regarding the application process.

Am I wrong? Are you talking about the 15 months program at UT in houston???? You made me nervous.

University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston requires the TEAS V test.

I got a 67.3 composite score. I think its time to consider other career options.

Bummer. Can you take it again? People usually do better the second time. Or maybe apply to a school that requires the HESI and see how you do on that test?

They will let you take it multiple times. Just keep taking it and get your score up.

I'm so sad. I really wanted to apply but the ATI testing site states that all test dates are sold out. The next available TEAS testing date is 6/6/2014

Hey everyone! I've been reading a couple of posts lately and thought I would share. My GPA is currently at a 3.2 and my TEAS score is a total composite of 84.0. Does anyone honestly know if this is deemed competitive? My GPA isn't the highest so I was wondering :)

That is really great stats and in my honest opinion, I think you're set!

Hi y'all!! I'm a first time applicant to UTMB. My best friend is currently a nursing student at UTMB and she's told me many positive things about the school. I'm also applying to UT-Houston (second time), UHV, and UTHSCSA. Application is complete, so now the LONG waiting game begins. Good luck to everyone applying! Try not to worry/stress too much! :)

Welcome @ebzgarcia! Good luck to you as well!

Hey guys!!

I'm also applying for the Spring 2015 term. I just took my TEAS exam yesterday and I already got my scores. I'm not sure if it is competitive enough which is why I'm sort of freaking out.

I got a composite score of 77.3%...I don't think I'll have enough time to retake it so it will have to do. My cumulative GPA is a 3.8 and my prereq GPA is around a 3.96. I've heard the personal statement can make or break you. I'm so nervous about applying and the deadline is coming up. :/ Hopefully you guys are on track and ready to apply!!!

Hi everyone! I'm applying as well for Spring 2015 and I'm really excited. I've submitted my NCAS application already, and my transcripts have been received. The weird thing I discovered was on NCAS, my GPA calculation was lower than it should be, did anyone else encounter this problem? It shows that I have a 3.09 GPA but I should have at least a 3.22 overall GPA.

Here are my stats:

Overall 3.22 (I went to UTSA and was initially majoring in Biology but changed my mind)

transfer 4.0 (from a community college)

prereq 3.6

science 3.91

83% TEAS Adjusted score

based on my stats, how are my chances? I'm a first time applicant and I think I did fairly well on my personal statement.
