The application process has just gotten under way for UTMB spring admission. Has anyone taken the TEAS tests? Any helpful hints on getting a high score?
Commuting from Houston to Galveston would really suck :/ I'd definitely want to live there at least the first semester or two. My friend is in her last semester at UTMB and for the past two semesters she's had clinicals in Houston so she spends more time here than Galveston. I think in that case, it'd be okay to commute because you'd only need to go like two days of the week.
@Jayc: are you a part of Phi Theta Kappa? If so their general application for scholarships is open until November 1st I believe. Good luck at UTHSC!
I didn't have to do a written portion, good luck at your interview!
And if I am accepted I will be commuting and I have no issue with it whatsoever. I've lived in the city for the past couple of years and mainly stay within its boundaries during the week so it will be a nice change for me. Also I intend on listening to the lecture again during the drive home.
Thanks marthavick, I appreciate the heads up on the phi theta kappa general scholarship! But I ended up putting off the acceptance package to become a member. Fortunately, when I received my acceptance email at uthsc I ended up getting a small scholarship for a $1000 from them. I'll probably apply for more =).
I'm sure you will hear the good news in regard to your application in 2 weeks or so! Did you also apply within the city as another option, like twu since you have a high teas score and 4.0?
@JayC
I did not apply to any other schools, and I do not and will not regret it one bit. I originally planned on applying to UTHSC and possibly TWU, but I ultimately decided UTMB was it for me. I thought about my decision to only apply to UTMB very seriously and considered the possibilty of denial so I am prepared either way. But I am not in that mindset at this particular moment, negative thinking only causes undue stress. I am also thinking it will be at least two weeks if that before I hear anything on my application. Again, thank you for your well wishes!
Not sure if this is the right spot to post this question, but...Does anyone know if UTMB accepts SCIT 1407 & 1408 for the A&P requirement? I just started looking into this program, but I already took the SCIT classes and not the BIOL classes listed on the pre-reqs. UTA accepts either so I am hoping UTMB does also?
I too only applied to UTMB for the Spring 2014, and I live north of Houston and will most likely be commuting since my son is in the best schools and I have family here to help!! Looking forward to my interview next week and so so so super excited. Good luck and best wishes to every one!!!

I had my interview this morning it went great! I'm still hoping to hear from UTHSC though. Is anyone else here planning on commuting from Houston to Galveston if accepted to UTMB?
