UTMB FALL 2010 (University of Texas Medical Branch)

Published

UTMB Fall 2010 Application period starts tomorrow Nov. 15, 2009

Who here is applying for it?

Btw, there is the ATI TEAS entrance exam for FALL 2010.

Anyone taken it yet?

I can't seem to find the registration for it in the atitesting.com.

Melissa: I just got your PM, but I cant PM you back. (I dont think I have enough post yet) Anyways, I think the only thing I did not answer was rather or not the other posts helped me. I think alot of the posts must refer to the 3.0/4.0 version and not the V. I say this because many people posted that there was only 1 or 2 A&P questions, and alot of geology and other random stuff. The science portion on the test I took seemed to me to be much more relevant to nursing. There were a few questions thrown in about things like the water cycle, but I did not have a single question about rocks. (thank goodness)

I'm sure you will do well, try not to stress to much.

Good luck

Thanks, Jennifer. I figured that almost all of the posts were directed towards the earlier version. I'll be sure to review my old a&p notes, chem and science reasoning. I just bought the study guide so I'll wait for that to come as well. Good luck in nursing school and thank you for your help.

Sorry, one more question. Should I memorize any physics formulas or do they provide them on the test? Thank you so much!

I don't remember seeing any physics. If you've taken the HESI or NET and did good, you'll be fine.

LindseyPaige........to you or anyone you know....I live in the Woodlands and I am willing to pick it up from you, do you have a study guide I can either borrow or buy???? I decided to take the TEAS at the last minute and the test is on the 11th and the only way I can get the book in time is to overnight it and it is very $$$$$$. Please let me know asap! Thank you.

jenniferrene,

Its Schmaltzey again haha....so the damn study guide can only come in time if I overnight it...$$$$! So do you think I could take it w out and do ok? Meaning study math, science, vocab and grammer? I am wondering if the Hesi is close enough?

I ordered my book yesterday from ATI testing and it shipped out today via fedex ground for $8 shipping. I received notification that it should be delivered to me tomorrow. You will have time to buy the book. Also, you can get fedex 2nd day for a little more but the ground is standard and for me, it took the same amount of time.

Sorry, I didn't use a study guide.

really? Did you do ok w/ out it? I was debating on not buying it bc of time and money. Also I figured since I did well on the Hesi the TEAS couldn't be that far from it. What do you think?

The TEAS is a bit different format. I studied really hard for the Hesi and NET reading, but didn't study as much for the teas and still did ok.

Schmaltzey - maybe you can just buy the practice test online?

I didn't even think of that! Good idea, I will probably just do that, I just don't see paying $40 bucks for something I can only use for about 5 days. Yea I did really bad on the NET so as long as it is nothing like that, especially the reading, I think I might be ok......eh who knows. Thank you for answering all my questions...I don't know anyone who has or is applying to utmb (prob bc of the distance) so this is my only resource of getting questions answered. Is it on a computer or booklet? I am really praying the reading is not like the NET bc if so I don't have a shot in hell.

It's on a computer, which is a plus compared to the NET - I hated that the NET was on paper it just made it more stressful for me, especially the lack of space in the crowded test room.

I don't think the TEAS is a format similar to the NET or the HESI... To me they were all a bit different. I didn't use the study guide or the practice test, either, but I'm assuming that at least the practice test might give you some insight as to how the test is, or at least how the questions on the test may be worded and such.
