UTMB Fall 2017

Hi everyone!

I cannot believe it's actually time for me to apply to nursing school. It seems like I've been working on my pre-reqs forever now and it's finally here. I didn't see any utmb 2017 fall hopefuls yet so I thought I'd create a thread. I'm having one heck of a time with the application process. I'm taking my teas next Wednesday and submitting my application after that. Has anyone sent in their transcripts through nursingCAS yet? Anyone have any pre-reqs they still need to complete? I have one last semester to finish. Good luck to everyone applying this semester!

@nchampoin, I actually just got off the phone with UTMB. They said that as long as it's in NursingCAS, it's good. I do not believe the grace period includes verification. I had the same issue and just got my transcript verified yesterday, and UTMB said that I'll get the supplemental application within the next week and that it's just fine. If I were you, I'd give UTMB a call though!

Hi!

On Monday, I called nursingcas because my transcripts were still verifying even though I had sent in my transcripts over four weeks prior to Monday. They said they didn't know why it had not been verified yet so they sent it to the verifying department and my transcripts were done verifying that same day. I also got my supplemental app yesterday. So maybe you should call nursingcas!

I am worried. I was dumb and didn't realize that you had to send your TEAS scores to UTMB. I called and they said they haven't even started fall applications left, but will by application be bounced because my TEAS scores were sent late? I applied January 1 and I was verified by the 20th. I got my supplemental application and filled that out the other day, but I'm worried that my mistake will cost me admission possibly.

@line24, I highly doubt they'll just forget your application just because you were late, especially from what I've read on past years' forum pages. I would assume you're just fine, but if you're worried enough, just give them a call and ask! I and I'm sure everyone else have been bothering them a ton, so they're definitely used to tons of questions. :)

Also, did you mean "they haven't even started fall applications yet?" If so, did they say when they would begin reviewing and sending emails for interviews?

I would say don't worry because my TEAS results were sent late (I applied for the summer and fall sessions) as well and I called the other day and was told I was still being considered for admission. I think as long as your application is verified you are good. You should still call and check though.

@dasha11, I don't know the exact numbers, and I'm not sure if anyone does, but I did find this page that may answer a few questions. I received my interview for the Summer application term February 2nd. They are still processing all summer applicants. They have not even begun to look at the fall applicants yet. I turned in my application for the summer term August 29th. So it took a little over 5 months before I heard back. Its a slow and tiring process and I promise we will all be frustrated waiting.
