Hi everyone!
I cannot believe it's actually time for me to apply to nursing school. It seems like I've been working on my pre-reqs forever now and it's finally here. I didn't see any utmb 2017 fall hopefuls yet so I thought I'd create a thread. I'm having one heck of a time with the application process. I'm taking my teas next Wednesday and submitting my application after that. Has anyone sent in their transcripts through nursingCAS yet? Anyone have any pre-reqs they still need to complete? I have one last semester to finish. Good luck to everyone applying this semester!
My transcripts are still in the verifying stage. All 3 of my transcripts have the yellow "verifying" check next to them. I didn't submit my application until yesterday so I'm sure it'll take some time. I sent them my transcripts on December 8th, so they've had them for a while. I'm pretty sure it's okay that they aren't verified before the application deadline. I read on the nursingcas website that it can take up to 4 weeks for them to be verified. I'm almost positive that if nursingcas receives them with the application before the deadline that you're fine.
Did you have your transcript verified through NursingCas yet? Pretty nervous at the moment, didn't send them my transcripts till last week (was in a minimester class that I wanted to get on there) and I'm afraid that things won't get verified in time.Everything else is submitted.
Mrs botello told me via email that scores in each section should be above a 70 to be considered competitive, and scores above a 60 in each section are the minimum. I'm not sure about the gpas. I know fall semesters are the most competitive semesters to apply to. I'm thinking that anything above a 3.5 would be considered competitive, but it really depends on the applicant pool.
What's a competitive TEAS score for UTMB? Also prereq GPAs that usually get in
If I get accepted, ill also be commuting from south Houston. I just recently moved even more south (league city area) to be closer to my support system during nursing school. I'm hoping there will be other students near my area that will be willing to carpool
Hello everyone! Also applying for UTMB and would be commuting from south of Houston (about 20 miles south).
I see everyone is starting their applications, even if they have a few things pending.
Since I was on the late train financially, I just scheduled my TEAS and the soonest I could find was January 10th. I feel like this is cutting it super close.
Should I submit my application now, and then just send in my TEAS scores once I take it?
Worried I am going to completely miss it!
I received emails as well as notifications in nursingcas when they received each transcript of mine. From the time I requested the transcripts to them receiving it was about 8 business days (10 counting the weekend).
Thanks, they've got the application. Just don't 100 percent know if they've gotten the transcripts. Both schools had to be mailed VIA snail mail. By my calculations they should have them, about to start harassing nursing cas.

This link is from UTMB website. It is info regarding being a competitive applicant. Not sure if this helps!
