UTMB Fall 2013

U.S.A. Texas

Published

Hello! I searched the site and seen no one made a topic about the people trying to enter in Fall 2013 so here is it  I am applying to UTMB for Fall 2013. I've written my personal statement and filled in the application. Now i'm waiting on nursing CAS to receive all my transcripts and to take my TEAS test on Jan. 8. I'm so nervous. How is everyone else coming along?

Hey guys - if you read through past class threads, you'll see the same "well I was told this, I was told that" story... I KNOW its hard, believe me, I do! It doesn't make it right, but sometimes they say anything to get off the phone - try to imagine how many phone calls and emails they get every day!!!!

I remember how much this game sucked, but I beg you all to just take a chill - if you haven't received an email or letter specifically stating that you were denied, then you're still fair game!! They send stuff out in waves, just the way they work - not gonna change. They won't leave you hanging, they'll contact every applicant - It will either be acceptance, wait list, or denial, but you WILL hear back!!

Breathe. Breathe. Breathe. And don't hound them - trust me, they take notice!!

Students are accepted up until the first day of class. Orientation is mandatory and they don't mess around. Someone is a no-show, they lose their spot and a wait-list applicant is called it. I realize it's hard when you're trying to make plans, but think of it as a conditioning exercise for nursing school - where things change even after they've happened! I'll let you all in on a little secret - the magic key to nursing school is flexibility and patience, and copious amounts of each :)

To those who have been accepted - GOOD LUCK!!

To those waiting - hang in there, it's not over until you have a letter in your hand... and even then, it's not really over! I am a strong believer in everything happens for a reason and the right time! You'll be a nurse - don't give up!

Thanks for clarifying again from past! I think were all aware of the "truth" ...it's just the nerves are crazy!!! I'm in shock that she would tell me there sending no more & that everything went out (not including denials) she said all hopefuls were done this morning. I thought it was weird when there wasn't hoopla on the forum this morning. & yes she did get off the phone very quickly but informed me to apply again for spring. Didn't tell her my name so there's no way she could have looked in my file. REGARDLESS! Yes your right. I do think we need to chill including me lol. This was my 4th time calling (not to bad lol) so hopeful what someone else is saying (April 8th) is true or near to true because its killing us softly lol

Lol yessssss killing us softly hahaha! Ahhhh reading all of the posts had me on a roller coaster of emotions I need to start checking that email!

I probably just should have never joined....this is making me have migraines every day lol

Megan, a student at UTMB now, is the admin of the group and has to approve the invite then you will be added. :)

Hi guys! Just to clarify- for whatever reason, FB is being finicky about non-admin invites and is not sending these invites through to the page :/

When you are admitted, please send your email address to mariorda (at) utmb.edu and I will be able to add you.

For those of you who have been told by fb that you've been invited, please send me an alternate email address. When I try to go back and invite you, it tells me "this person has already been invited" even though there is no way for me to add you. I have no idea why this is happening, but it is! It would be easier for me to have awesome help in getting invites out, but fb is not cooperating. Sorry for the hiccup!

Hang in there, all of you who have not been admitted. Some of my friends who are doing extremely well in the program were 'later' admits. Don't lose hope!

you guys are really overdoing it with acting all psycho and OVER dramatic about what you read or what has been told to u by random people over the phone. CALM down and take it easy because your making this thread uncomfortble to visit.

I think a lot of us are really on the edge. & unfortunately that's what a forum looks like during waiting period. & simply that's what a forum is for...to share thoughts, questions & other information that's was individually provided

I don't mean to be rude but telling people they are acting psycho is a bit over dramatic as well. We are all here to support each other and everyone is nervous about getting into the program because it is essentially the beginning of the rest of our lives. I am sorry if I offended you, but your post is rather upsetting.

You did not upset me.I dont conduct myself like others on here seem to, and will not behave irrationally based on what I read on a forum. If I feel tht the way certain people are behaving is a bit MELODRAMATIC, being that this is a forum where AS YOU SAY, people gather to "share their opinions" I get that people are nervous, im nervous too, all 700+ applicants are nervous! I think getting everyone upset on here is conterproductive in solving the "nervousness".
