UTMB Fall 2012

U.S.A. Texas

Published

HI! I am applying for the traditional BSN program at UTMB that starts Fall 2012. I am taking my TEAS this friday and I wanted to know if anyone else here is applying for the same semester. Hopefully there are others so I don't have to be nervous alone!! :D

Thank you Eric and Sarah. I've been worried. Although, I did email my interviewer and I was told that I should've heard something by now. Whether it be an acceptance/rejection/wait-list letter. But knowing that some people don't get accepted until after orientation and some are considering other nursing programs gives me lots of hope. :)

Just received a rejection letter in the mail about 15 minutes ago... Happy Easter to me. Good luck to all of you still in the running. Hopefully the spring has something in store for me.

I'm so sorry to hear that. And please believe that my words are genuine. I know EXACTLY how you feel. I received that same letter in the mail last semester and my heart sank. I cried, was sad, doubted myself, and I went through the entire range of emotions. After gettin all that out, I knew I couldn't let that one letter stop me from my dream. In fact I still have the letter and decided to use it as motivation. I not only reapplied to UTMB, but a host of other schools to increase my chances of moving forward. And who knows maybe this time I'll get to hang the old rejection letter beside my new acceptance letter. And if it's not from UTMB (although I'd like it to be) I'm confident enough in myself and the work I've put in so far that it will be a letter from somewhere. Hopefully you applied to other schools as well (I only applied to 2schools last go round) and if you didn't start doing your research now and prepare yourself to do so for the next admission cycle. Also if you inquire and wish to reapply to UTMB they will give you feedback on your application, essay, and grades regarding why you weren't selected this time. So give yourself today to grieve and process this, but only today. You have a goal that you set for yourself, now it's time ti just find another vehicle or route to achieve it. Best of Luck to you! ;-)

Thank you for the kind words:) I am on the waitlist for tamu hsc, but I was really hoping to hear from utmb. I'm currently looking at numerous nursing schools that are accepting for the spring. I have nothing else left to take after this semester, so I will be taking things that suffice for other nursing schools that I was not able to apply to this past round. You're story sounds a little bit like mine... I wish you the best of luck also! Thank you!!!

Ugh! I am so sorry UTMB2012. Please keep trying. Big hugs to you.

Thank you:) I'll never give up! Good luck!!

Interviewed on Thursday, and feel like it went okay.. My interviewer kept telling me how strong my grades were. I have a 3.6 GPA and made an 84 on the TEAS. Never thought my grades were all that great until that interview, so that made me feel good! And now I'm in the waiting game with all of you guys! He also told me it should be 1-2 weeks before I find out. From the sounds of it, they're trying to wrap up interviews (asked Liz, the check-in girl for interviews). So hopefully the anticipation will all be over soon!

My interviewer also told me that waitlist is not the end! Last year, they ended up filling 12 spots with waitlisters!

Also told me that there was ~500 applicants, and they're choosing 120. Obviously not everyone gets an interview out of the 500, but for some reason that made me feel a tad better about my odds!

Who else has interviewed and not heard back??

I am confused about an interview? I applied for the RN-BSN fall program and have had no news? I also see people talking about an interview and I had no clue they did interviews? Please help

Hey everyone,

Like many others, I've been religiously reading this thread for the past two months and have just now decided to get an account. I interviewed on Mar 19 and got my acceptance email today. So it took 3 (long) weeks before I heard anything. For everybody who's still waiting, just keep your head up and stay positive. From the looks of it, they've got a ways to go.

hi guys, i just emailed them and this is what i got

we are in the process of getting correspondence out to everyone that has had an interview. you should receive something by the end of this week or first part of next week. please contact me if you do not receive anything by next wednesday.
