HI! I am applying for the traditional BSN program at UTMB that starts Fall 2012. I am taking my TEAS this friday and I wanted to know if anyone else here is applying for the same semester. Hopefully there are others so I don't have to be nervous alone!!
[color=#ee82ee]thank you punkydoodles! if admitted, i will definitely love to be paired up with a senior in order to feel more confident and ensure the transition is easier.
kokolino: glad you got that cleared up! glad to hear you have a good interview.
happy spring break to those in school!
Hey guys. I had my interview March 8th. It went very well. It was very casual, I was interviewed by the head of the admission committee which scared me at the beginning but then I realized that was actually good. However I was SHOCKED when she told me that I had a total of 9 withdrawals within the last 5 years. #1. I havent been in college for 5 years (only 2.5)#2. I NEVER dropped a single class.I told her I have no clue where they got that from but it was without a doubt a huge mistake. She looked over my transcript and was like "Hm I don't see that you have dropped any classes so I dont know how this got in here".The interview preceded with the questions (Why you want to be a nurse etc.)At the end I asked her if she fixed that mistake about how many classes I dropped, she said yes she will fix it and now the status of my application has dramatically changed. I was very relieved. I was just shocked to see such a huge mistake on there and if it weren't for the interview they wouldn't have known that it was a mistake. She told me the committee meets today March 9th and will look over the applications of those they have interviewed so far and decide who gets admitted, wait listed, or denied. So all those who have had interviews so far should receive an answer within the next month.Good luck to everyone else. Just relax.I hope I get it, I love the school and the island. What really draws me to this school is the fact that the program is only 1.5 years long. That is pretty awesome.
Sounds just like my admission nightmare, only mine wasn't dropped classes, it was just classes not finished. They were missing an entire transcript. We had to cut my interview short so that I could go home and email her a web transcript since the committee was meeting that afternoon.
That's proof that UTMB looks at much more than just numbers!!
Hang in there!
Hello everyone! I've been reading these forums for awhile but it's my first time posting. After reading that interviews emails have already been sent out, I'm very very worried since I've yet to receive anything. I have a 3.87 GPA and got a 90.7 on my TEAS, but I didn't realize the essay was of so much importance and didn't do the best that I could :/ I've tried calling UTMB all day to find out more information but all I got was the answering machine. Does anyone know if there will be another round of interviews?
