Hi everyone! Just thought I'd start a thread for those who are applying to UTMB for Fall 2011. There are some really great (and long!) threads out there for Spring 2011 and earlier...but as I'm sure y'all know, the application process can change from cycle to cycle, plus it's just nice to have a new thread for us. :) So feel free to post questions, comments, or anything related to applications!
I'm applying as a second-degree student to UTMB, UTHSC, TWU (Houston), UT Arlington and A&M, plus maybe the new Texas State program. Whew! I keep hearing great things about UTMB so that might be my #1....
A question to start us off: so we can now use either the centralized NursingCAS application, or the application through UTMB, right? What are you all going to do? I'm thinking of just doing UTMB's direct application....if you do NursingCAS, I think you'll have to do a supplemental UTMB application+fee anyway, so you might as well just do it all once...thoughts?
I think utmb has lost my application. My mystar still says "incomplete" so I called and they can not locate my application. A month ago they told me it was ok that it says "incomplete but today they said there is no way it should say that... ughh! Now I am waiting on their call because the staff is searching for my application.... how depressing!

I'm sorry to hear that. Did they give an indication of how long before you hear a decision?
She said that they're voting on wednesday, so by the beginning of next week I should get something through e-mail.....I'm tired of waiting, I just want to get this over with!!!!!!
I called an inquired about my application last Monday and she said that they are still considering my application and that they are doing more interviews up until the middle of May and if I hadn't heard back by mid May to call her back. I still haven't heard anything, but still haven't got a rejection letter. tacman66, how did you find out that rejection letters were being sent out? Did someone you know get one? Anywho, she said last Monday that some rejection letters had already been sent and that if she knew I was rejected she would have never returned my call. She was very nice and helpful. This was the first time via phone that I had inquired about my application. Good luck to myself and everyone else that hasn't heard anything yet. And congrats to everyone that had been accepted! Hope to see you guys there in August!
I got my rejection letter today... and it doesn't really matter because I've already accepted an admission from another program... but is it "weird" to ask why I was rejected? I have a 3.54 pre-req GPA and a 3.75 Science GPA. I made an 86 on the TEAS V, which was a 97th percentile nationally. I'd just like to know why I was not accepted. Do I contact the pre-admission advisor? Thank you! And CONGRATULATIONS to everyone who was accepted! :)
I hope you all had good interviews! Mine went well, and now the waiting starts... one thing is fore sure, being there got me super excited about the possibility of being a nursing student at UTMB! How did it go for everyone else?

Nope, I don't think it's weird to inquire, at all. I had planned on doing so if I hadn't been accepted. And Yes, I'd start with her. She may not know, but may be able to direct you in the right direction. Sorry about the rejection, but yeah for starting another program!!
I believe my interview went well but I am a little scared because I asked how many they have accepted and they have accepted 80 so far and said they will be taking 30 more only which worries me
