Utica University FNP Online Program

Updated:   Published

Hi My Fellow Nurses,

My name is Letisha, and I live in Brooklyn, NY. I am seeking an online Family NP Program. I know about Frontier, Downstate and Utica College. Does anyone have any reviews about Utica's online FNP program? I know it's a relatively new program. Any info is very much appreciated!

hi im searching for the same question, did you find out any info?

Hi Sarah,

no I didn’t.. and I’ve been accepted. Just wondering how the reviews for the program is..

So I too was recently acquiring about this program. I am leery do to the fact that it is not accredited yet. I know that it's a new program and that a class must complete the program before it can be accredited, but it's scary to think about going all the way through a program and possible be unable to practice if the accreditation falls through. Does anyone else have any thoughts?

I went to the CCNE website, the Bachelor's program is accredited by the CCNE, and has been accredited for almost 10 years (since 2010). I was prepared to apply to Frontier, but they have a hold on NYS applicants at this time. It sucks. I think I'm gonna give Utica a shot.

I know, I might as well. It's just a little nerve racking. It does appear that it will be accredited. And even if they miss it on the first attempt they'll have another year to get it before you graduate

Hi guys, I was also accepted into this program and I can’t find any reviews about this program.. it’s kind of scary when you don’t know what to expect.

I'm more concerned with the accreditation. But I think it will work out in the end. Hopefully!

OMG I just got accepted as well and now I'm freaking out a little. I read all the BSN reviews and they are not the best. What happens if they don't receive their accreditation? Will we not be able to take our boards? Does anyone know if the starting Fall class of 2019 be the first class?

I really don't know what to do now.

Hi, no they have a class that started in May this year I believe. I would really like to hear from any of them. Also, according to my advisor, there are already about 100 something students registered for classes which starts Sept 2. I’m nervous. In order for accreditation to be given, the first class must graduate. That will take about 2-3 years.

oh wow, that means we are the second class; that is if the first one makes it. idk if I'm willing to take that risk. Do you know if we would even be able to transfer our credits if we decide to go elsewhere? probably not since they are not accredited huh?

I’m in NY, and it’s so hard to do FNP online in NYS cause they don’t accept many outsides schools. If I lived in jersey, or out of NY, I would have just stuck to Chamberlain’s FNP program
