  1. Hello there, I currently work FT at Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania (HUP Penn medicine) ED. They offer a $6000/year tuition assistance, which is great. But this still leaves me with a lot of money I have to come out of my pocket. So I want to make the best decision possible. I finally narrowed it down to these two schools. (I originally was thinking of La Salle or Maryville but I read some forums on here that scared me away from them and I'm bummed because they were definitely more affordable, but I guess you get what you pay for ? I read on here that these schools are looked down upon on and a lot of graduates don't get jobs b/c they went to these schools! Like WOW!! that's messed up! And it's crazy to me because I did my research and their stats were great). Anyhow, Any tips/suggestions/thoughts on balancing school/home/work? on Drexel vs. TJU? I understand we have to find our own preceptors for both right? but did they assist you in any way when you needed help? Also did anyone attend any of their acute care program? is it worth it or is it better to do the AGNP and then maybe come back to a post certificate a better route? Any feedback will be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
  2. Hello, I have 3 yrs med/surg and a little under 2 years of ED experience. I enjoy the ED which is why I wanted to go the Acute route but I think in the future I might want to work in an outpatient setting. Will getting a AGACNP impede me from working in an outpatient setting? And should I even be pursuing an AGACNP with only a little less than 2 years of ED experience or is it recommended I get some experience in the ICU first? Thank you!
  3. Thank you,- appreciate your feedback- definitely plan on starting to apply soon. Working on my PA, RN licence right now.
  4. I've been looking at other school requirements for transfer credit acceptance, and all 5 schools I've looked at so far require the credits to be from an accredited school in order to be accepted ?
  5. Hello, My name is Reyni. My fiance and I are relocating to downtown Philly in February due to his work. I am a RN with a BSN, currently working in the ED in NYC. I don't know anything about Philadelphia lol but I am very excited. Can you please recommend a decent hospital to work for that offers decent benefits and tuition reimbursement (I plan on going back to school next fall for my FNP) which is also another recommendation I need. (Online preferably) lol Please help. Thank you very much.
  6. ugh I am going to email the program director of Utica College tomorrow with some of these questions. I will write back whatever answers they have for me. Lawrd I really don't want to waist my money. Now i'm also wondering if my job requires the school to be accredited in in order to give me the tuition reimbursement. that would definitely be a game changer... #frustrated ugh
  7. Stonybrook has online FNP? Are you trying for this fall semester?
  8. oh wow, that means we are the second class; that is if the first one makes it. idk if I'm willing to take that risk. Do you know if we would even be able to transfer our credits if we decide to go elsewhere? probably not since they are not accredited huh?
  9. OMG I just got accepted as well and now I'm freaking out a little. I read all the BSN reviews and they are not the best. What happens if they don't receive their accreditation? Will we not be able to take our boards? Does anyone know if the starting Fall class of 2019 be the first class? I really don't know what to do now.
