I applied for the Fall 2008 Accelerated BSN program and am very excited to have an interview on April 10 - the letter just came in the mail today! Anyway, I wasn't able to find any recent threads for applicants applying for this year so wanted to see if there were any applicants out there.
I'm interested to hear from any current or former students in the program. Is this a good program? What are some of the pros and cons?
I currently live in Houston and prefer to stay if I am accepted to any of the 3 nursing schools here, but I would certainly not hesitate to relocate to SA for nursing school.
I think we got it with the packet where the Heart to Heart information came. Towards the top of the page, there is a sentence in bold that reads "Important things to know in advance" and there are 4 bullets. The fourth bullet on that page explains that we have assigned reading that is due during the first 2 weeks of class and then it lists all of our assigned reading. The good thing is that we have almost a month!
Yeah, I know all about the internet books, most people have good luck with that but ,5x count them 5x ,I purchased books online and either they never sent them, or they were very damaged, missing pages and stuff. Oh and just taking forever to get them. They were all from the same sites other people have no problem with. I just don't have the best luck with things like that. SOOO I choose to go this route. I loose money but save time and stress. (just my experience)
I bought the recommended books too.I always prefer to be over prepared. It's all part of being a control freak I guess.:banghead:

When you get close to finishing prereqs it can get very exciting and nervewrecking!
I applied for fall 2008. I turned in my application as soon as I got my grades for fall 2007. I still had to take 3 more classes in Spring 2008 ( you mention this on your application). While you're trying to concentrate on getting through your classes you play the waiting game.
Good luck with everything!!!:typing:D
