UTHSCSA Traditional BSN Application Fall 15

Published

Hey guys!

So the application to start in the Fall of 2015 is due on February 1st. Really, that is right around the corner if you think about it!

Let this thread be dedicated to all hopefuls!

I still have to take the Teas V, but I did buy the study guide with 2 tests so hopefully that helps. My cumulative GPA will be 3.2ish and my pre-req GPA will be close to 4.0. I'm extremely anxious about getting in that is for sure!

They're open on Saturday? I will send an e-mail if so!

Oops I meant Monday! I don't even know what day it is anymore lol

Sooo I re-opened the supplemental I sent and I misspelled a word :( It was just one but ugh thats frustrating!

It's only 1% no worries. ;) I actually had a school teacher on my facebook, plus a few others, review it before I submitted it.

On another note... After we get accepted when can we buy our laptop? I really want to buy it ASAP because the laptop I have now is hanging on a thread. Well not really, it works very well but its been dropped several times and the casing is coming apart. I really don't know how much torture it can take!

That's true but still :/ lol

And Im assuming we can buy them right away since that is one of the requirements needed before registration?

I imagine it'll be included on the list we'll get when/if we are accepted. Things like the laptops, a link that explains how to get our background check, a list of immunizations and how to verify them through the school, orientation dates, etc.

We're going to have a lot of work to do between April 1st and the first day of class (again, if we're accepted), which, looking at previous classes, appears to be about August 25th.

I submitted my sup app yesterday at noon and got an email back around 1:30 saying they had received all my information. What time did you send your app yesterday? Maybe it was later in the day? And if so just make sure to call or email first thing Monday morning since it is due by noon on Monday! Also when you paid for the app did you get a confirmation email for that? I got mine immediately as if it was an automatic reply. Best of luck to all of us! The anxiety is making me sick to my stomach.

I submitted it at like 11pm on the 5th. I did get the confirmation for payment :)

I'd say then that they got it, but just haven't actually reviewed it yet. Regardless, I would check your trash/spam boxes (don't know why they'd be sent there if you got other emails from the school, but it never hurts to check), and then as monatyes said, call very early on Monday and get it taken care of.

I didn't even consider that they won't be open on the the 7th and 8th. I would call right when they open on Monday

like monatyes stated.

do you mind sharing your backup plan?

Of course! (It's kind of exciting that you asked lol)

I wanted to either minor or double major in Psychology with my Nursing degree. However, since UTHSCSA is separate from UTSA, a minor is not possible.

Of course, not that I would necessarily finish my major by the next cycle, but I could probably take a class or two per semester of nursing school and get close to the Psych major at UTSA. Then I could finish it up there quickly or somewhere else. I'm basically core complete, and I would just need the last two years. Which, of course, would not be easy or anything, but its definitely better than doing nothing and I feel it would definitely enhance my nursing degree. :)

I had already had this idea, and my bestfriend that is going to be in the nursing program in my hometown is minoring in Psych, and I am so incredibly jealous. lol
