Hey guys!
So the application to start in the Fall of 2015 is due on February 1st. Really, that is right around the corner if you think about it!
Let this thread be dedicated to all hopefuls!
I still have to take the Teas V, but I did buy the study guide with 2 tests so hopefully that helps. My cumulative GPA will be 3.2ish and my pre-req GPA will be close to 4.0. I'm extremely anxious about getting in that is for sure!
They're not open on Saturdays? I feel like maybe I knew that maybe I didn't...
Ratlady- I am in the same boat with payment confirmation but no "recieved app" confirmation and I sent mine out sometime during the day Thursday. It's probably just an overload but I think I'm going to email them right now just in case! Also, yeah, we can't do the laptops or anything else really until they give us the conditional acceptance. Even then, they don't give us them until orientation. I was creeping around on the site last night and saw that on some random orientation schedule I found for SON (graduates actually get theirs before we do).
monatyes- I think you'll be good girlie. :) Like you said, it is mainly based on your TEAS and you are above their average from last cycle, which is, an AVERAGE, so that means that people got in below that. Plus if that's your overall GPA its still well above the minimum. :)
On my supps I had my dad look over them (I used his work printer to scan them) and then looked over them after he did lol
I think thats a great plan! So I'm guessing you maybe want to go into psychiatric nursing?
Thank you so much stephfutureRN06! :)
It's definitely something I'm looking into (I kind of already know what I don't want to do) but psychology has always interested me. Plus, I feel that as a nurse, it would be a good idea to have a background in how people work.
Eventually I also considering pursing a PA degree, so I feel that having a psych degree would be helpful in that path as well.
I applied to UTHSCSA and UIW. When I went to the information session for UIW they said pretty much anyone who met the requirements and passed the TEAS V with a proficient score or above would get into the program if they had space for it, MAX 60ish. With that info it makes me feel confident enough to know that I definitely stand a chance there. And I feel like I have some what of a chance with UTHSCSA despite my 3.0 GPA since I scored an 84.7 on the TEAS V and thats what counts as 59%. A girl can dreamSorry my plan involves waiting another cycle, but busy waiting lol. I guess it would probably be a good idea to get my CNA or something though now that I think about it...
