UTHSCSA Traditional BSN Application Fall 14

Published

Hello! So I had seen threads started for past classes and didn't see one yet for the Fall of 2014 class, so I figured I would start one. So let me introduce myself. My name is Will Long, I am a 27 years old male and I am applying for UTHSCSA's Traditional BSN program for the Fall of 2014. I have started my application and have signed up to take the TEAS test next Friday. I am pretty excited about finally being able to apply after finishing up all the pre-reqs. Anyways I was hoping this thread could be used a source of information and a place to ask each other questions throughout the application process. Anybody else out there applying? Have you already taken your TEAS test?

Hey guys! So happy to hear most of us received the email about the supplemental application. So I know it's early to tell but I was just wondering if anybody would be looking to move closer to the school in case they got accepted? I'm looking for a roommate and I plan to get a two bedroom around the medical center area. Anyone interested? I know it's early but I like to plan things early because summer goes by really fast and with all these applications and everything, school will be just around the corner. So let me know if anyone is interested. :)

I have to move down to SA for sure, bc I live in Austin right now. Are there apartments near the hospital and near school and shuttles and stuff

Hey harrysmuse.. I'm very familiar here by the medical center area and I work at the hospital that is beside the uthscsa. Yes there's a lot of by stops here. I mean a lot of them. They also just built this new via bus station by the medical drive so transportation around this area won't be a problem. Hope that helps. :)

Me too!

Has anyone reading this threat not received the email about getting the supp app today? Either bc they did not meet the minimum gpa or forgot to submit a transcript?

Knowing this, would be a good indicator to those who receive a supp app, that they really do "qualify".

Just got the supplemental application in my email a couple of minutes ago. Now I'm really nervous......

Just got my supplemental app. Too guys! Hope everyone gets it and lets keep our fingers crossed for the rest! Good luck to you all!!

So on the "Core Residency Questions" it says,

"IMPORTANT: If you were enrolled at a Texas public institution during a fall or spring

semester within the previous 12 months and were classified as a Texas resident, skip to

Part I, sign and date this form and submit it to your institution. If you were not enrolled, or

if you were enrolled but classified as a nonresident, proceed to Part C."

So basically I can leave all of this form blank except Parts A, B, and I?

Just making sure, don't want to screw this up.

Yes. The instructions said most of us will have a lot of blanks so it should be fine. Furthermore I'm excited that we'll be hearing back the week of April 7-11 but i know it'll be in alphabetical order again so most of us probably won't hear anything til the middle of the week. Bummer.
