UTHSCSA Spring 2016

Published

I'm considering going to nursing school through the Baptist Health System in San Antonio or UTHSCSA. Most people I get advice from tell me hands down to go for UTHSCSA. I would like to hear from more of you who are currently enrolled or have gone through the nursing school program at either one of these locations in San Antonio. What did you like about the teachers, faculty, the content you were learning, etc. What were your hours like at school and if you had kids, how did you manage your time.

I am still a pre-nursing student and have one more semester in Spring of 2014 to complete before I can apply. I am very excited and just want to know more information. Also, a close family friend is attending nursing school at Wayland Baptist and informed me that their nursing program is shutting down. Is there any truth to this?

No, i didn't apply to Baptist. I thought about it, but many hospitals are phasing out associate degree nurses so I didn't want to bother with an associates and then a bridge program.

No luck! Still verifying!

I applied to Baptist School of Health Professions. I found their application process much easier!

Yes, Baptist definitely has an easier process.

I'm barely cramming for my TEAS test for the end of this month. So far the reading was super easy and I'm working on the math now which is going over simple concepts of math.

An FYI, I also found an app called TEAS that gives you study questions on the go, right from your phone! One review stated that a question on the app was on the actual TEAS test but who knows if that's true!

Wish me luck guys!

Good luck!!!

Math has always been my best subject, but I ended up making really simple mistakes on the exam and didn't score as well as I should have.

Also, really focus on punctuation that was a huge part of the language usage part of the exam

The TEAS was stressful for me to prepare for. Day of the test I was super relaxed. I found it help not to study the day before.

I bet you were ready to get the test over with!

I know what you mean. Just from practicing I made a few simple errors, like adding instead of subtracting or just flat out adding little numbers wrong! *facepalm* I was thinking, I'm gonna need to SLOW IT DOWN on the test!

I think that is exactly what my problem was, I just took the test way too fast. I was finishing each section with 15/20 minutes to spare. But I did manage to make a 98 on the science portion of the test.

Hey all. I applied to the fall 2015 class and got accepted. I posted earlier in this thread. We had 563 applicants and 110 were accepted. They didn't accept anyone with less than an 80 teas score. They did take some people with

Thank you so much for that information! I have a cumulative GPA of a 3.6 and a science GPA of 3.5. I'm worried a little bit about the TEAS because I didn't study like I should have but I'm going to try my best. Please keep us updated when you start school!!
