I'm considering going to nursing school through the Baptist Health System in San Antonio or UTHSCSA. Most people I get advice from tell me hands down to go for UTHSCSA. I would like to hear from more of you who are currently enrolled or have gone through the nursing school program at either one of these locations in San Antonio. What did you like about the teachers, faculty, the content you were learning, etc. What were your hours like at school and if you had kids, how did you manage your time.
I am still a pre-nursing student and have one more semester in Spring of 2014 to complete before I can apply. I am very excited and just want to know more information. Also, a close family friend is attending nursing school at Wayland Baptist and informed me that their nursing program is shutting down. Is there any truth to this?
Just an FYI to anyone using the ATI TEAS V study manual for the TEAS exam, I found some GREAT resources that can prepare you even more! Go to you tube and look up KESHWANI, he uses the ATI TEAS V study manual and goes through the entire math section day by day. I used them and they are a tremendous HELP! Here is a link to one of the videos but you can find "Day 1" and go from there starting on page 50.
The app deadline is in 4 days and Ncas still hasn't verified my transcripts after having them for 9 weeks. I've tried emailing and calling them and have yet to hear anything back from them. I am so worried. I called the school to see if my app would still be considered even if it wasn't verified and they said as long as I've followed all of the steps before the deadline then yes. Also, middle of next week we should receive our supplemental applications. Maybe everything verifies after we submit that? I'm getting a bit frustrated with the lack of feedback from Ncas. I mean I understand that they have a lot of "customers" but this is important! Or should I just calm down? lol
Yes, you are right. NursingCas should be a LITTLE more helpful. They have awful customer service and leave you hanging, I can't understand why UTHSCSA uses them.
As far as the TEAS test goes, I spoke with admissions from UTHSCSA and they said that they receive the TEAS score almost immediately after you finish the exam. The results are sent electronically so per admissions, you could take the TEAS July 31 and they would get the results same day.
Hope that helps, and WISH ME LUCK!! I need it. I am way behind in studying for the science part.
Hello to all fellow applicants on the post. I'm taking my teas tomorrow haven't been doing to well on my online practice teas test (got a 72% and 76%). I have a really good overall gpa 3.6 and science and math gpa of 3.8, so hopefully that will kind of help me get selected. Not too worried about the test though I just want to get it over with already. I'm doing horrible on the English and language use section and I barley found this great website (today)to help clear some of the questions I had. So hopefully I have done enough studying to improve on the real test.

I'm doing well on the math and reading portion but the English and Science section have me worried. There is not enough time for me to completely study. Did you see the link in one of my comments about the math tutor who goes through the ATI book?
Yes I saw the link. I'm pretty good with the math and reading portions as well. Science I'm ok and English and grammar used if just horrible. I found this website "grammar book.com" today and it was really helpful to me in understanding the English and grammar part. Give it a try you won't regret it. The site gives plenty of examples and quizzes on the subjects it covers. Best of luck @cici8304
