UTHSCSA Spring 2016

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

I'm considering going to nursing school through the Baptist Health System in San Antonio or UTHSCSA. Most people I get advice from tell me hands down to go for UTHSCSA. I would like to hear from more of you who are currently enrolled or have gone through the nursing school program at either one of these locations in San Antonio. What did you like about the teachers, faculty, the content you were learning, etc. What were your hours like at school and if you had kids, how did you manage your time.

I am still a pre-nursing student and have one more semester in Spring of 2014 to complete before I can apply. I am very excited and just want to know more information. Also, a close family friend is attending nursing school at Wayland Baptist and informed me that their nursing program is shutting down. Is there any truth to this?

So how do we know if the school has received our TEAS score? I've heard nothing about it, but previous threads said that they received email notification from UTHSCSA confirming their scores were received.

The deadline is tomorrow 23:59. The lady in the admissions office said 2-3 days after the deadline for the supplemental application. So next week if they're on time this cycle. I know that as far as scores go, it depends on how everyone else scores this cycle. They obviously choose the higher scoring applicants. I hope all of us on here get accepted.

Thats very helpful, thank you!. I agree that everyone here deserves to be accepted.

Good luck everyone!! That is where I graduated from and it's a great school!

Thank you Range93 for all that helpful information! What I'm most nervous about is the math section and that it's going to be timed. I can't stand the feeling of rushing through a test under pressure, that's when I make the most mistakes.

Anyway, I think you did a great job on your overall score!!!

Can't believe deadline is tomorrow… I am so freaking excited, I'm sure all of my coworkers are annoyed with my constant "deadline is coming!!!"

I'm going into this with a TEAS score of 86.7 and a cumulative and science GPA of 3.6, so I'm not even that worried about everything. I just wish NurisngCas would step it up and get our transcripts verified.

It is exciting! With stats like yours, I'm sure you'll get in. The only thing I know holding me back is my TEAS score.

Oh and my transcripts STILL haven't been verified.

Littlemisscat no doubt you'll get in with those stats! They're better than mine and I'm in! I know it may be too late for many but how I studies for the teas is...

did the first practice test before my core sciences. Went through the book, every page except practice tests, then 6 months later after my core sciences I took the teas practice test b. Then I went through the study book again and wrote all of the important parts by topic into a small notebook. it was only about 15 pages that I then had to flip through everyday to study. And rewriting it out helped a lot. There is also a teas v practice test app that I used.

What kind of questions are included in the supplemental application?

Q: "Can I update my coursework after I e-submit my application?"

A: "No. Once you have e-submitted your application to NursingCAS, no changes to coursework can be made. If you e-submit your NursingCAS application, there will be an Academic Update (AU) period, which will allow you to update your coursework. Arrange for your updated transcript to be sent to NursingCAS as soon as they are available. You can only update your coursework once during the Academic Update period. An email will be sent to applicants when the Academic Update period opens."

There you go guys, directly from the website.

Do you know when the academic period opened? I still have to update my government class. It just finished

I have no idea how any of that works, maybe get in contact with NursingCas and ask them about it. I literally waited to finish all of my prereqs before applying just so I wouldn't have to deal with any of that.
