UTHSCSA Spring 2016

Published

I'm considering going to nursing school through the Baptist Health System in San Antonio or UTHSCSA. Most people I get advice from tell me hands down to go for UTHSCSA. I would like to hear from more of you who are currently enrolled or have gone through the nursing school program at either one of these locations in San Antonio. What did you like about the teachers, faculty, the content you were learning, etc. What were your hours like at school and if you had kids, how did you manage your time.

I am still a pre-nursing student and have one more semester in Spring of 2014 to complete before I can apply. I am very excited and just want to know more information. Also, a close family friend is attending nursing school at Wayland Baptist and informed me that their nursing program is shutting down. Is there any truth to this?

Mine has been in since May 23rd. Just waiting on transcript verification.

I am still trying to submit, some pre-req classes just ended and I need to send the transcripts, I'm worried it won't be in time though. Crossing my fingers!

I'm going to be submitting mine very soon! Hoping it all gets done in time.

Nursingcas received my transcripts fairly quick. I was actually surprised at how was they received them.

Oh that's good! I hope mine go that way!

I sent mine June 1. Like most, I'm just waiting on transcript verification. Definitely ask about the Teas before you take it so you don't waste time and money.

I wish my transcripts had arrived quickly, mine literally took 5 weeks to arrive and that was after express mailing a second one.

I'm waiting for transcript verification too. But like I said they received them crazy fast.

I had a problem with transcripts too. I called them to see why they hadn't verified my transcripts yet and NursingCas said they hadn't received them. Then within the next day, they said they received them but they are still sitting as verifying. VERY ANNOYING. Why do we pay almost 50 bucks for them to take so long?

I also applied to Baptist School of Health Professions for their ADN program in case I don't get accepted at UTHSCSA. Their application process is so much easier. I applied AFTER I applied to NursingCas and within a couple of weeks, they emailed me back confirming my application and that they received my transcripts. Plus, it didn't cost a dime to submit an application to them. It was so much less stressful. With NursingCas I keep worrying and wondering if things will go through in time.

Also, I just remembered UTHSCSA requires an essay as well. How are we attaching that to the application? Is it too late to do that or could that be done during the time I update my transcript to add my newest class?

There's no essay. They send us a supplemental app which had a few essay questions a few days after the app deadline. Heads up, it's another $45 fee paid to uthscsa.

Oh, wow! Thanks for the heads up. It seems there is a fee for everything. Between requesting transcripts, submitting applications, buying ATI testing manual and reserving a testing spot, it's starting to ADD up!

Do you know if they do a personal interview as well? I was just wondering.
