UTHSCSA Spring 2016

Published

I'm considering going to nursing school through the Baptist Health System in San Antonio or UTHSCSA. Most people I get advice from tell me hands down to go for UTHSCSA. I would like to hear from more of you who are currently enrolled or have gone through the nursing school program at either one of these locations in San Antonio. What did you like about the teachers, faculty, the content you were learning, etc. What were your hours like at school and if you had kids, how did you manage your time.

I am still a pre-nursing student and have one more semester in Spring of 2014 to complete before I can apply. I am very excited and just want to know more information. Also, a close family friend is attending nursing school at Wayland Baptist and informed me that their nursing program is shutting down. Is there any truth to this?

Do any of y'all know what the cutoff score is for the TEAS test for UTSAHSC?

I don't think there currently is a cutoff score, but from past semesters they don't seem to accept people who made less than 70. Starting January 2016 you'll have to make at least a 65 to be considered for admission

Okay, cool. I didn't see anything on their website besides the at least 65% thing too and the average score for those previously accepted. Ugh, this is so nerve wreaking.

I am like super excited for this, and I hope we all get accepted!!

I hope so too! Good luck to everybody! That deadline is coming so fast!

Is the TEAS with PSI the only score they'll accept? Or can you use the score from another application. Like if you were to apply to Baptist nursing program, could you use those scores too for UTHSCSA?

As long as the TEAS exam was taken via PSI then yeah you can use that same score for uthscsa

Just make sure it was taken with PSI. They take the most recent TEAS V so if it was with PSI you should be fine.

Well that sucks. I had no idea about the psi. Looks like i'll be having to schedule that asap. So if I'm taking the TEAS tomorrow not PSI, can still take it with the PSI within the next couple of weeks without doing the 30/60 day wait?

I am going to say no, because it is the same TEAS test, PSI is just a type of testing center. I'm not totally sure on the difference though, I would call ATI or PSI and ask to know for sure.

Or call the school to see if you can use the same test

Thanks for the help ladies! Any of y'all sent in applications yet?
