UTHSCSA Spring 2016

Published

I'm considering going to nursing school through the Baptist Health System in San Antonio or UTHSCSA. Most people I get advice from tell me hands down to go for UTHSCSA. I would like to hear from more of you who are currently enrolled or have gone through the nursing school program at either one of these locations in San Antonio. What did you like about the teachers, faculty, the content you were learning, etc. What were your hours like at school and if you had kids, how did you manage your time.

I am still a pre-nursing student and have one more semester in Spring of 2014 to complete before I can apply. I am very excited and just want to know more information. Also, a close family friend is attending nursing school at Wayland Baptist and informed me that their nursing program is shutting down. Is there any truth to this?

The supplemental app is as close as they get to an interview. And yes, there are a lot of fees. If we get accepted we have to get a background check (about $43), get CPR certification and pay a $250 seat deposit as well.

FYI: seat deposit is $250 for TX residents, $500 for Out of state and $750 for international students.

I read that it takes 12 business days for them to verify transcripts. If that's the case mine won't even be done until this Friday, so we'll see

Yep, there's a lot of fees that go into applying and after you get accepted. Don't forget shots if you don't have the hepatitis B and flu, you could also try and get those done at a free clinic or vaccine workshop.

Is the 12 days to verify start after they received the transcripts or after the application is submitted?

It says that it could take up to 12 business days for verification once all application materials have been received.

Hi guys, I spoke with the admissions and we don't need verification before the deadline. All materials must be delivered before the deadline, verification and calculation of GPAs can be left for after August 1st.

Whoop! Thanks for calling, I didn't even think to do that.

Has anyone had any luck with verification yet?

That's awesome news! I was starting to get worried since the deadline is getting closer and closer.

So guys... Has anyone noticed that the deadline is 2 weeks away? I've been doing so well not calendar watching but I'm starting to get super excited!! My transcripts are still verifying but I got them there ahead of schedule so I'm not too worried. We are getting closer and closer to being nursing students.

Yessss! I religiously check to see if my transcripts have been verified. I keep freaking out that somehow my application is going to get overlooked or lost.

Anyone also apply to Baptist?

Yeah I check at least once a day but still no luck. I'm more worried about my application getting kicked back for a mistake and then not having it in before deadline.

But I have my 3 12's starting tonight, so between work and sleep I won't be so caught up in checking my application..
