U.S.A. Texas

Okay so im applying to uthscsa for the spring and was wondering if anyone knows what gpa they look at and any other helpful ideas to get an interview etc. my prereq gpa is 3.74 but my overall gpa is a 3.44...is that going to hurt my chances? i went in for a transcript review and debbie calculated the wrong gpa for me and i didnt notice until i got home. i hope they dont mess up with my application. eeeek im so nervous i wanna do everything possible to get in!!:D the only other place im applying to is sac but i much rather get my bachelor degree then an associates....

I went to Wednesday night also but I must have sat in a different area than you two, Future and Calinative. I have curly hair too, Cali! But mine is red.

It seemed to me that quite a few students are having problems with the BON regarding background checks. The only real advice I got out of the meeting regarding the background check issue was if you had your check done greater than 3 weeks ago--you should call the BON to check on things. Sorry no help on how to actually do that.

It is always amazing to me at the different things each of us hears and remembers when hearing/attending the same event. Also, there were several different group tours with different information and questions being asked. So for those that went Wednesday, what was the most important thing you go out of it?

I think what I enjoyed the most was seeing all the areas that we have access to. It also opened my eyes to the parking situation in which i think they said it could take about a hour to get onto campus from the zone 4 lot!

I also got my books in the mail today and they are quite a load! Wait till you see the med surg book. That is why I was glad to know that we had day lockers. We provide the locks right?

I called on December 1 and they told me they would expect to know about the accelerated program by January 1. I just kind of laughed because I won't be moving to SA until I hear whether or not I'll be in class starting January...it's gonna be a tight few days if I go in January!

1 of 22 males here! Stay strong brothers

I def. recommend on getting on the waiting lists asap, zone 4 is not bad, but i cant wait til zone 3, only 321 more people to go . you do not need to take books to class, only 1 for lab, unless otherwise stated by professor.

Can some one tell me the orientation schedule please, im planning to have a table to recruit members for HSNA.

nmy30: u dont need to have a bachelors unless you want to be in accelerated program, many of us just have associates in science, i had volunteered, some ppl hadnt volunteer n still got in...

ok, my Background hold finally came through and i just registered for classes!!!!

I selected to take my clinicals on Wed 0630-1530 with Ford if anyone wants to join me on that day!!! :)

This is SO exciting!!! I am still outprocessing through my unit here in Oki but i should be there in the San Antonio area on the 11th!!!!! :) :) :)

Yay! Happy Holidays!! :)

Yay Kristy! Hope everyone else has had the same luck with getting that fixed.

Anyone still on for coffee???

I also got into the generic program for spring 2010. I was looking into the books the school says that you need and JUST the required ones were $742 and that was provided I could find them all used!! it was like a total of 13 books or something crazy. I'm just wondering if there's anyone on here that has already completed the first semester to let me know which ones to get and which ones I won't really need because thats a lot of money!! I've heard that you don't need all of them, and that some professors don't teach out of the book, just lecture notes.

Please and thank you!

Im in 1st semester right now, and you dont need any of the pharm books, you do need the fundamentals book, didnt use the med-surg book, you do not need the lab reference book unless needed for your clinical instructor, and you need the bates book for lab, you do need the drug guide book...i think thats it...

can someone post the orientation schedule?

I got the dreaded zone 5! They already have a waitlist for zone 4...but i am number 41 so it shouldn't be to horrible. Just letting you know in case you were able to make it down there before orientation.

Also Mar4... do you have to pay for the shuttle from zone 5 to the school.

Only 30 days till school!

You do not have to pay for the shuttle...

You do not have to pay for the shuttle...

Thanks!

Are all the clinicals really full already?? I really wanted the 1.30pm >.
