Hello Everyone,
With the deadline date very close, hope everyone is feeling less stress and now we all have to play the waiting game. Good luck to everyone who is applying for UTHSCSA fall 2012!

My advice: Don't stress out. They'll try to scare you during orientation and/or the first couple of weeks of school... I suppose to prepare you for the worst just in case. But, really, don't worry. Yes, you'll be very busy. Yes, you'll have to study a lot. But it's not that bad. We're halfway through the semester and I've gotten really good grades so far.
The first semester professors are awesome. :) You'll love them. They really care and help transition you into a nursing environment.
@LiveLaughLoveLearn: I was born & raised in SA so I don't really know how it correlates to Dallas. But from what I've heard from some of my classmates, housing is pretty affordable. I would suggest, once admission notices are sent out, that your class creates a Facebook page. There you'll be able to communicate and see who is coming from out of town and be able to set up housing arrangements. There are some apartments that are close to the school that are reasonably priced. (My friend has a one-bedroom and pays about $550 in rent a month; it's close to the parking lot that you'll get to.)

@Girlwarrior: Thanks for the advice and info on housing! That seems pretty reasonable compared here, where I pay more. Hopefully I will get to that level of being a member of the FB page for this class.
Thanks again!
No problem. I'm glad to help. :)
If y'all have anymore questions feel free to ask. :)

Which class or concept has given you the most trouble? Is there anything that's been difficult for you to adjust to? I'm glad to hear some kind words about the professors! It sounds exciting.

For me, the only really difficult course is Pharmacotherapeutics. What I've already noticed that when you get to the drugs, you have to understand the basics in order to understand the rest. It'll end up snowballing at the end if you don't "get" it from the beginning.
@girlwarrior: I actually had another concern/question, it's regarding the Hep B shots. At the school I applied to TWU, they don't require us to take action for our shots till notified of acceptance. However, UTHSC SA may differ. I am aware that it is a six month process, so should I go ahead and get my shots?
I would start now just in case. I believe there's a Hep A/Hep B combo that takes a shorter amount of time. They will work with you, BUT you wouldn't be able to register until all of your immunizations are done with. The meningitis one too... and the flu shot. :)

Hi girlwarrior,
I appreciate the info you have provided us so far. Thank you.
I was wondering how long did you hear from UTHSCSA after you submitted the Supplemental Application? Do they let you know by email?
I'm just wondering.

Just looked through my e-mails and... Three weeks exactly, in an e-mail. :) We didn't have "as many" applicants, so I don't know if that may affect the amount of time or not.
*The e-mail was the admission letter, btw. So, you all should hopefully be hearing something soon.
