UTHSCSA-Fall 2011

Hi All,

Since January 10th was the application deadline, do any of you have an idea as to when the earliest when we will hear from UTHSC-San Antonio? I already have my bachelor's degree in a non-nursing subject but I opted for the 2-year traditional route because the accelerated program just seemed too intense. Are there other 2nd degree folks out there applying to the 2 year program as well? Good luck to you all! I hope we are all there in the Fall!

Soooo, does the admissions look at the OVERALL GPA or just the Prerequisites? My overall is not that great but my prerequisites are good. I was reading last year's UTHSCSA Fall 2010 posts and when people listed their GPAs I was confused as to if that is their overall or prereq. Anyone know?

I dont even know.. I dont even have a copy of my eval because I happened to be in the states at the time that the email was sent.. its saved on my sisters computer. But from what I understand of the scoring, if you have a good score on the TEAS, it could outweight a lower GPA. Has anyone tried calling the school yet? Im trying not to get to anxious, I know its only the 22nd..

I have heard they use pre req GPA. They also have our essay questiones to look at.

Ahhh, you think they are looking at the essays this week?

I do not plan to call them because I think we probably won't receive letters until April 1st at the earliest based on last year's posts.

I thought they might send out an email too. If we get email it would be a little earlier than snail mail.

Hey guys,

I'm also a nervous hopeful for the fall 2011 class. My roommate and I both applied and she told me that when she talked on the phone to someone about admissions they told her that the way they evaluate you is based on 3 things: 50% is on your TEAS V score, 40% is on your GPA, and the last 10% is on your essays. So nervous, I wish they would send an email tomorrow, but I guess we will have to wait for an actual letter in the mail. :down:

When your roommate called, did they say anything about emails whatsoever?

This wait is agonizing.. I want to call so bad!!

Yes, did they say anything about emails, and did they say that the 25th for sure was the day they would start sending out the letters? Just from last years threads they kept pushing the date back.. I hope they dont do that this year.

I called yesterday and the lady I spoke with said that they would be sending out emails and letters by April 1st so I don't think we will know anything before then.

Yea, she didn't say anything about emails. I'm pretty sure we will have to wait though till next week before we actually see anything. :crying2:

I just received an email that says they received and verified my TEAS V scores and that they will be sending out emails by the 1st of April...

I doubt they will send out any invites tomorrow. Me and two other girls took the test again on the 22nd (yes I said the 22nd), we got invited for a free retake because of the computer problem, so I doubt they will be able to send out letters so soon. I called yesterday and the lady said they will start letting people know by April 1st and they will email AND send letters, so everyone will probably find out by email first. But I wouldn't freak out if I don't hear anything by April 1st because I had called last week and the lady said they will let people know by mid-April, so I really don't know what's gonna happen... I am so anxious to find out! that's all I think about!!

Also, does anyone know how many people got invited to take the TEAS? when I asked they told me 200 so I thought it wasn't so bad, but someone told me that she heard that over 300 people got invited to take the test.
